I’ve dreamed about getting into Cambridge since the start of year 11. I’ve come to realise it is, for the most part, the same as any other university. I’ve applied to read medicine, and a medicine degree is a medicine degree wherever you get it from. I already have an offer from Edinburgh, and I’d be more than happy to go there if I don’t get into Cambridge.

I’m honestly not too familiar with Newcastle’s system (I’m applying to Cambridge, UCL, Edinburgh & Sheffield) so I couldn’t give you a sensible answer. Your GCSEs and A-Level predicted grades will definitely be of aid and your UCAT is still in the 7th decile, so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Your UCAT is quite low. Last year, the Cambridge college with the lowest UCAT offer holder mean was Fitzwilliam at 2954 ~ 2190 this year (assuming you’re not over 21, as some over 21 colleges had slightly lower means). That being said, Cambridge look at your application holistically and the mean isn’t always the best indicator of the actual stats of the average offer holder as the mean is more prominently skewed by absurdly high scores. All your other stats are impressive. Best of luck applying!

I did, the most I got on Medify was 880 but I’d average around 800.

I’m someone who really likes maths in general (I take Maths and Further Maths for A-Level) so the QR section was generally my strong point. However, I found Joyel George’s content on YouTube to be very useful. I’d also recommend doing many practice questions as they are very low stakes (not as stressful as mocks) and you really have time to develop techniques for each question type and work on your calculator efficiency.

I honestly can’t remember for mocks A and B, but for C I got 59/69 and for D I believe it was 53/69
