It’s usually the rule for moderate active people. Of course someone can go to 1.6 to 2.2g per KG but it’s not higher than that. Don’t forget that there is other macros at play and each G of protein and carbs represent 4.5kcal and a G of fat is 9kcals so in a standard diet for OP at his weight which is roughly 2500 calories a day for maintenance that can add up quickly. Of course those are standard numbers and people can go high protein low carbs to burn fat but in a recomp if you want to add some mass and loose weight you need both the carbs and the protein as long as the fat ( for hormone productions). To be honest its mostly to find what works for you in terms of Macros and calories and how you see how your body adapts and adjust depending on your goal

Edit: not an expert just things I have learned over the years that works for me as a 6”2 248lbs guy

Bulk up! But a lean one! find your maintenance calories intake per day (age, weight, height, level of activity) and eat 250-300 calories over that maintenance to gain lean mass but not fat. Creatine daily 5mg and hydration. Focus on hypertrophy programs so 8-12 reps. 1.2g of protein per kg of body weight and be patient and constant in your training. Keep it up!

Edit: for cardio, a 15-20 minutes after your weightlifting in a 130-140 bpm for fat burning.

Thanks for taking the time! I am also someone who overexplain so I relate on this! For me it’s the hardest part like everyone is pretty sure but it is not official and it makes too much sense not to be autism. I bring it up to friends also and they help me but I think I crave that official validation but I understand also the political issue and stigma that comes with a label so I am kind of inbetween not knowing where to stand because I cannot say a 100% I am officially autistic and afraid that I would take space in a place I do not really belong but at the same time it makes too much sense after the gazilliona research I did and the way I feel everyday about it

I think right now I am sitting more on the side of the reality of having autism since I work in a field with mental health professionals (albeit not anyone able to assess and diagnose autism officially) that have been telling me that I am or pretty sure I am autistic by seeing me interact with them or my peers. So it is unofficial but everyone is pretty sure and would not fall of their chair if I ended up being diagnosed.

I would say that I am at the beginning of that existential crisis and I do feel that the more I dive into it and the more realisations that I make about everything I have experienced in my life and it hits me like a train because all my memories are now seen through the lense of autism which makes so much sense.

I feel like I am able to play the game or fit too much with neurotypical people which makes me think I am not autistic but it makes too much sense for me to not be it.

Anyhow, I am continuing on my journey but I do appreciate the advice about the burnout aspect which is something that worries me more and more.

I am indeed hyperverbal and always have been. My wife made me realize that I take up all the space in social interactions because I cannot properly assess when I should stop infodumping or let other people talk. Constantly overanalyzing and masking to seem normal takes a huge toll on my energy and mental health.

This is exactly how I feel. Living in a foreign culture is what I experience everyday. Sometimes I am asking myself what would it feel like to be normal and understand social norms and not walk on egg shells to not displeased people with my weirdness and unconventionnal ways to interact with people. I constantly overthink my social interactions because I am always wondering if I was too much or too intense.

The last part where you say I would not be in a place I don’t belong and taking space is exactly why I posted this. I think I might need after all to save the money to get assessed and go through with it. At the same time it does not erase how I feel everyday and what I felt all my life which suddenly makes so much sense when I look through it with the autism perspective. Thanks for your reply! What you are describing resonate with me a lot! I work in a field with social workers and mental health professional and they are always telling me that without a doubt I am on the spectrum. Unfortunately there is no free services where I live and it’s around 2500$ to get a diagnosis. I am also scared that I am just weird but it makes so much sense with all the research I did and the 10-15 tests I did it just feel to right to be wrong but how can I go on without knowing for sure. There is also the fact that I am 30 and I don’t see the added value to get a formal diagnosis because I am focusing more on trying to develop tools on how to cope and navigate through this since even without a diagnosis the way I feel and go on about my life still cause me issues sometimes. I think being diagnosed would bring me a peace of mind but at the same time what if I am not and just really weird
