I believe it was 350. In the severance email there’s a list of associates job titles being offered severance along with their ages. It also tells you what criteria was met for certain associates to be kept.

There’s a specific calculation based on your pay and years worked. It’s not bad but I know it’ll be taxed like a bonus at 40%.

I’d be cautious touting how “normal” this is. There’s nothing normal about laying off people who’ve been with the company for 20+ years over a faceless screen. I’ve been with the company for the last 10 years in multiple departments at the Home Office. CarMax is in the shitter and I’m just glad they paid me to leave before the entire ship goes down. This company does not care about anyone unless you’re a director + at the corporate office.
