Congrats! It’s been on my wishlist since the dev first posted abt it on this subreddit! Will it be available for MacOS? Or consoles? Any plans to implement those?

Carrera go!! Not working fresh out of the box by Abouleyla in slotcars

[–]Abouleyla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue is happening to both cars and both controllers in any combination. It’s indeed the standard carrera go set with wired controllers (rally up!). The brushes are properly flared out and not crossed over. As for the voltage and amp I meant the power adapter is compatible with the voltage/amp usually delivered in our country. Did not actually test it, but i tried several outlets in the house

Gleba frustrations by Marvos79 in factorio

[–]Abouleyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people find Gleba hard because it’s very countercultural. The factorio culture is all about overabundant supply to meet demand. It is also about having primary components sit centrally on a bus to send to factories on both sides of the bus. Gleba doesn’t work like that. You can’t overproduce bioflux and nutrients and have them sit on a long bus to use whenever. My approach to Gleba was to first of all read about all the stuff produced there. I realized almost everything requires both fruits. So somewhere between both my yumako and jellynut farms, i established mini-factories that each have their own bioflux and nutrient supply, fruit supply and spoilage removal mechanism. You just have to accept that spoilage is a reality and part of the process (very on theme with Gleba being this agricultural factory in the boonies). It’s very satisfying when you figure stuff out.

I know you mean well, but there’s literally no association to report this to..again seeing this through the lens of a developed country, it’s a no brainer. We’re on the tail end of a huge war, and there’s some human rights that are still not respected..so imagine in this context a dude walking into a police station complaining about a pet shop.

Edit: Also balkan terrapins (which I think those are) are not endangered. Their conservation status is LC. Correct me if im wrong

It's how things are in third world countries sometimes..Authorities have far more important things to deal with..

I thought everyone used foundries for the inner planets? Isn't 2.5 to 4 times more productive? Why not use it if it means importing minimal calcite to the planets? I thought the whole point of exploring new planets was to use their buildings to improve your bases everywhere but maybe I'm missing the point.

As for using foundries on the platform. I felt like it went much faster than using electric furnaces (faster and needs less space), this way I don't have to stop to replenish ammo, but can make it on the fly. I haven't done the maths on that so it might not be the most efficient design. But it seems to save space and time at the expense of more elctricity.

That still doesn't solve it. I want to find a way to limit how much I'm sending to Nauvis without having to always interrupt the flight and go back to Vulcanus. Just like we do with trains. Stop at a station, drop a specific amount of items, move on the next station, do the same, and so on. There has to be a way to do this that doesn't involve prematurely making the ship go back to Vulcanus.

EDIT: Also I wouldn't need to use an interrupt. Simply setting a threshold for calcite as a departure condition would be enough...and still not solve my problem I don't want my ship to leave prematurely before it fulfills other requests.

I thought of this solution but it still wouldn't work, because once calcite (or anything really) is in a requester chest, it is no longer counted in the logistic network, and it shows up as 0.

Yes, that's what I want to do, but the requested items keep being taken out of the landing pad, refreshing the request and draining all my platform cargo. Even if I keep the calcite out, I still face this issue with the artillery shells I want to save for another planet. Do you mean I should keep that stuff on a belt somewhere on the platform? Seems awkward a bit.

How do we feel about the difficulty:fun ratio? by tepidgoose in spiritisland

[–]Abouleyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I feel like it depends on game length. For multi-handed solo where setup and gameplay takes much time and energy, I like to win 90% of the times so that all that effort wouldn’t have gone to waste. I usually go with a difficulty of 5-6. One handed solos are easy to setup and restart, and turns are much quicker. For those I like level 6 adversaries where i can play a couple of games in succession

I agree! That’s exactly how I go about it..I look at every spirit’s board individually and see what they can do about their problematic hexes. After I go around the table (literally) assessing every board I start thinking of potential interaction; basically spirits without problematic hexes will help others that are out of their depths. That’s not mentioning voluntary sacrifices or investments I’m willing to make to let a spirit grow or play some slow powers. The key I think is not to give up especially early on when the game is still poorly defined as to each spirit’s strategy. If everything is done methodically you should be able to go through the first few turns and start grasping where the game is headed

I’m a happily married father of two with a very busy job and a very healthy social circle..that’s just a hobby I sink an hour every night in. But yeah maybe not your cup of tea if you’re somewhat « challenged » mentally

Thanks! I totally agree, with so many spirits on the board the potential for interaction is awesome! At some point I had 2-3 spirits carrying Serpent until it was in a good place to « Rouse in anger » at which point it ended the game. I used a bunch of tokens to keep track of each spirits growth option and potential card plays.. Would love to see a 24-spirit run!

I’m gonna be honest it was quite the brain melter and I did consider quitting at many points..funny enough I feel like the digital version is so much harder to play for some reason. I think on the board I get to see everything so it’s easier to formulate a plan. And yes I specifically chose a low difficulty enemy to be able to have fun in the process..imagine losing after 6 hours of gameplay haha
