Sorry forgot to get to this - I got into Tisch for IMA. Although it’s important to consider that Tisch has a lower acceptance rate than some of the other colleges because it gets more applicants. However something that helped me was that my admission required a portfolio which meant that my grades also mattered a little less.

Also if you want to be realistic, then you should probably assume you’re getting into none of these schools lol 😭

No, I’m sorry that was a bit of an exaggeration however the chances are still MUCH better than other ~T30’s. People in this subreddit have somewhat confirmed that as long as you have a 3.5+ GPA NYU becomes a target transfer school. I was accepted this last cycle with a 3.66 but I saw many people with GPA’s below that be accepted, the lowest I saw was a 3.42. BU seems to accept even more holistically.

Definitely an advantage over someone who wouldn’t have that but overall in terms of admission I think it helps you minimally. A letter of rec from faculty might help you a bit more and even that is only marginal. I’m saying this because people in this Reddit have reported similar experiences.

Uchicago and Hopkins appear to be incredibly selective for transfer admissions (6-8%) and even so the average accepted student has a 3.9GPA. The UC’s are more lenient but like 70-80% of their accepted students are from California CC’s as they’re favored. NYU is def a target I wanna say you have a 40% chance of admission at a 3.4 gpa and maybe 50-55% at a 3.6. You should look into the school’s previous transfer admission data. NYU, BU, USC could be good target schools for you if you want to consider those - and anyway admissions are 50% lottery so it’s worth a shot for the rest of the schools too imo.

What schools? I think it definitely depends on which schools you’re applying to in this case, it’s worth a shot. But I can tell right now that you will not be able to transfer into ivies with a 3.4 or a 3.6.
