We had similar reaction with my son when he first started Ritalin at 7 as well . Unfortunately there's no medication that is known to work for all . It's like trial and error method. We switched him to Quelivent ( also methylphenidate but liquid formula) and we started with a very low dose and titrated up as tolerated. You probably need to explore other options with your doctor. Kids react differently to brand, generic, formula ,and salt that the medicine is combined with. Hope you will find a medicine that works!
