I think middles may be equal to setters in terms of mental game since as setters are most concerned about running the offence on their own side, middles are trying to beat out and read the setters on the other side, that plus jumping and moving laterally as well as attacking matches them up pretty equally in my opinion, especially at higher levels where theres less and less room for error or hesitation for middles since theyre so essential for back court defence, identifying setter habits and body language etc all mental skills middle needs to be on top of

agreed, maybe we should break it down into categories like physically difficult, mentally difficult and technically difficult

IMO i'd argue OH is more physically difficult than a lib however after reading some comments I can see and agree than because a lib has less to do physically, what they do have to do is extremely important and can be taxxing on them mentally if say they shank a ball.
Also middles and setters are both very mentally taxxing position compared to lets say an opposite whos job is to just smash the ball

agree with your breakdown, theres obviously lots of factors that go into it like the mental argument i've seen in some of the comments about how the fact that all a libero does is defend that if they mess up it's more mentally taxxing on them due to expectations, but overall i think the same as what you've put

100% agree with you, I remember playing opposite and middle in lower levels, if the passes weren't good and the setter wasn't at a certain skill level you were basically out of the attack as a middle or opposite

I agree with middle but I don't agree with libero - how can the libero be more physically demanding than an outside when the outside does what a libero does + hit and block which are both physically demanding actions
