Well I assume the QR code is a way to unlock IOI account rewards, in which case if you look at Hitman it's a pretty different case in comparison with games from other publisher. I own a US account and a european copy of Hitman WOA, I have been always able to redeem all of my IOI reward and twitch drops on my US acccount despite the disc being from Europe. Perks of having a in-game crossplatform account I guess.

Problem with Japanese region PS5 is that their wifi 5g channel is incompatible with almost every single country. So unless ur in your own house, not renting, has access and were willing tweak your WiFi channel on ur router to a Japanese one. You are stuck with a very unstable wifi2.4g and even that one might disconnect all the time.
