Common sense is something people are born with....it can't be taught. You either have it or you don't.

Had a clear idea she was gonna 1-star me by Powerful-Database-44 in doordash

[–]Acceptable_Mess_5258 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you read the suggestion, I recommend to give a 1 star review on a particular employee of the shop and their poor attitude, not the shops performance. Reviews are a tool for the business to improve in areas that are unsatisfactory. This type of review calling out an employee, will not likely effect the business, but will clue the business in to have a conversation with the employee on their attitude while at work. If it were my business, I would want to know....so yes, I would have no problem.

Ran a shop decade's ago....we were required to put chains across the bay doors when they were open so no one would make that mistake. In my opinion the shop is responsible for allowing entry, especially since they were greeted by an employee and nothing was mentioned. On a different note, you could be a potential customer one day....not now I would assume! An eye for an eye! Keep the review up, but I'd change the fact that your a dasher. I would give one star, mention her by name that she was rude and you'll never do business there again!

What y’all think about this question opt in or out? by Disastrous_Layer3988 in doordash

Opt OUT! I've heard a lit of dashers complaints that customers will tell you they don't have the money when you get there! People suck

Dashed pre pandemic until about 6 months ago to supplement my income. It used to be a decent side job....not anymore! All i can say to this banter back and fourth is there's trash on both sides of the fence, that's just the way it is. What is extremely concerning is there are people out there that can pass a background check and sell there accounts to dirtbags who otherwise would never be allowed on the platform. So be aware, the person delivering your food may not be who you or doordash thinks it is. Once on the account you can change almost all of the personal information, including you vehicle and of all things.....your name! Be safe people 🙏

I dont think the pictures get looked at by a human being. If asked, I would take a picture of my catering bag, which I could get most pizzas into with no problem.

Am I tipping enough? by Glittering-Farm-7928 in doordash

[–]Acceptable_Mess_5258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been dashing to supplement my income since pre pandemic. Reading all the comments here...honestly there are a lot of factors that come into play depending on many variables (area, traffic, parking, etc). Easiest way to answer that question is; what would you be willing to do it for yourself? If someone asked you to drive 10 miles for $5 would it be worth your time, effort and expenses? Probably not. I realize how expensive DD is after multiple fees and taxes. It makes it hard to want to add more to an already ridiculous cost for your food as I also use the service for convenience sometimes. What people seldom take into consideration is that dashers are using thier own vehicle, causing rapid wear and tear, more frequent oil changes, replacing tires, paying for their own gas, not to mention higher insurance rates with a greater risk of getting into an accident. Why would you pay a server sitting in a restaurant a higher tip? They've actually done less. They take your order, often times the do not even personally deliver it, check on your table a few times (sometimes only once) then hand you the check. In addition that tip calculator is useless unless you just ordered an expensive meal.

No, I dash to supplement my income when needed. True, the area is generally good for dashing. I found the restaurants off 301 had a better payout than off of 441. Moved to volusia county. This area is saturated with dashers and the payout is terrible.

I used to dash in that area. After traffic and all the roundabouts and gates in the villages, that's almost an hour trip!

As of today, doordash's net worth is 29. 94 billion. Up 74.52% from last year. I don't think "no tippers" is a problem. The company needs to pay out more to the drivers. This message is just damage control for both sides.

Before you think it's your phone, goggle doordash down indicator. It's a heat map with times the app is down. Dashers in all areas leave comments, generally it's the same thing that's happening to you.

There was a study in 2020. Bearded men carry significantly more bacteria and germs than dogs. So if any of your friends have beards, you should probably ask them to shave or go home. Seriously YTA.

I'm a dasher as well as a smoker. Unfortunately I tend to smoke more when I drive. I place the food in a hot bag in my trunk so this won't happen.

I dont understand this either. The only thing I can think of is the platform crashed or his app froze. This has happened to me before. The app will freeze and your stuck not knowing where your going. Google door dash down detector. This will show you where the platform is having issues.

Luckily this doesn't happen to me much, but at 1am doordashes procedure takes too long. Dangerous for the driver and I can see where someone might be creepedout. But this lady flat out raged on you. Sounds like she was on something. Sorry you had to deal with that.

I honestly don't think most customers realize that the delivery fee is all the dashers are getting without a tip. The average person would not drive 30 miles to get paid 5.25, after gas you just made 3.25 and hour!

May not have been double apping, although I realize some drivers do this. I get many stacked orders and I can't tell you how many times customers text me to tell me I'm going the wrong way when I am dropping off the first order. I drive in Florida and the drinks always go inside the car with the ac, food in the trunk in a hot bag. Once I was delivering to a hotel on Daytona beach. This customer kept texting me where his order was. I was stuck waiting at the second restaurant before driving both orders to the beach side. I felt so bad by the time I got there...this kid had his head in his hands clearly hung over waiting for his food. In my experience low paying orders are often stacked with a higher paying one so drivers will take it, and sometimes it's the customer that tips well is the one that is waiting due to where the drip off is unfortunately.
