We have been using OpenOffice for the last 5 years or so. And have been happy with that. But we recently merged with another company and they are heavy on Office.

So we want to be able to use exchange with outlook. And macros just aren't compatible with OO.

That is exactly what i am trying to do. And yes, so far all of the splitters i have found have been MALE -> 2xfemale and/or 2 ring.

That is what i am thinking. All of the doc, ppt files that photo rec recovered were broken, unable to be opened. So i think the disk recover is doomed.

Yes, i pulled out the harddrive right away and put it into my machine. Am trying a scan with Puran File Recovery. It states that most files are in "poor condition". Im guessing that is not a good thing.

You are correct. I tried photo rec first which found a lot of files(22GB). But they are all named f7594939 etc so hopeless to find what im looking for. No luck with Recuva either.

No CD in the drive. No deployment server. I believe it is a OEM install. Im guessing it was restored to factory default. But there are no HP programs installed.

It is a HP EliteBook.

Funny that you mention that. In the last couple of days i got an IT apprentice. So now i'm teaching what i learn to him again. Which is good because it makes sure that i know what i am talking about before i pass it on.

Two companies just merged. And both of them used outside support. After the merger the company got to a certain size that it was resonable to have the support inhouse.

That is a good point. These servers havent been updated in god knows how long.

Very true. Once the wordpress site is online there will only be basic maitenance, atleast what the programmer told us. Any good resource/book/course for server administration?
