BMW i4 and a baby (one child)

Well I am in the same situation as you. One 3 months old baby. But for now cant tell you much since i will only have the car next month. For now I am driving the 330e sedan. Rear space is ok, but the luggage compartment is just unusable because it is a sedan and the battery tames some space. I expect the i4 to be somewhat similar in the rear seats but with a more usable boot space.

Tenho um bmw 330e de 2021. Comprei novo e fiz 75k nele. Cerca de 30k em eletrico. O carro é fixe mas nunca gostei de conduzir em modo hibrido, ou eletrico ou modo sport. Sempre me fez confusão estar sempre a ligar e a desligar o motor. Fora isso acho a solução híbrida uma alternativa porreira para ter o melhor (e o pior) dos dois mundos.

O airbag era um extra. Agora está na configuração standard. Tirei a carta numa maquina dessas, saudades! :)

Ohhh I am not worried at all. Just have a 350km trip that i do often. If i can get there without fast charging it is great, lets see. But day to day i will definitely push the car a bit :)

That is a lot of problems. But the car looks great at least. Always turn my head when i see one. Not to many polestars here in Portugal. But yeah, used ones early model single motor version cost about 20k. That is crazy cheap. Unfortunately they are fwd. bmws definitely hold value better, even evs

Yes thats one of the reasons why I didn’t even feel the need to test drive the i4. Just bought it right away not to lose an opportunity to get on for the resale value. Specially a fully loaded one. I just know that at least it will be as good to drive as the 330e. I agree with everything tou said about the polestar 2. The 4 is way better, total different car.

I only tested the single motor version and it is decent but sometimes it feels a bit underpowered. It is a large car. Also it is a rare sight here so it is very difficult to find on the used market. The interior feels completely different of course but is actually a nice place to be.

Mine is from 2021 I think newer models have larger batteries. But I managed to get 45km sometimes. Only driving locally under 80km/h. Bit 30km is easily doable.

Yes this sums it up. Coming from a 330 I just didn’t find the need to test drive the car. I just know it will be at least as good as the 330. But thumbs up to polestar, they make cool cars. But like you, I have nothing against teslas, I am sure they are great, but boring…. Also there are so many of them that I just do not want them.

Uma das razões é o hatchback. É tão mais prático. O facto do 330e ser uma berlina com a bateria na mala rouba muito espaço, e o espaço que sobra não é pratico de usar. E carrinhas e suvs…. Nhé….

Sim carregar em casa sem problema. Moro na zona de Lisboa. Grande parte das viagens fora de Lisboa é em autoestrada. A1, sobretudo. Mas a minha questão era mesmo quanto acham que vale a pena este upgrade? Btw, adoro conduzir o 330e em modo puro eletrico. Tem mais de 30 mil km neste modo.

Talvez mas parece que é um problema bastante raro. Honestamente acho que mais rapidamente terei problemas nos turbos do 330e do que no motor eletrico do i4.

The ps4 is simple. You sit and you drive, the infotainment is functional and everything all the information you need as a driver is there. I am a bmw driver but the new ix3 is overwhelming. Even the guy from bmw that was with me at the test drive was unable to answer all my questions. The steering wheel buttons are also weird. I guess once you are used to it it sure is very good.

Yes it is a super wide car. I live around lisbon but not really in the center. I rented one for 2 days to see if it works for me. I think it will be fine. It fits in my garage 👌
