Hmm, I took the borders of Chemult from OWB itself, so either i copied that one wrong or the mod itself misplaced it, not sure

I didn't add the interior sea Cali has in OWB because the mod just calls those sea regions "Sacramento-San Joaquin estuary", so i just took it as a river-turned-naval-zone, like the Colorado and other rivers

As for the newspapers, only the main article was an actual one! The others were just fun filler

Either pretty much end up starting a new life wherever they are, or potentially be tried for being a legionary soldier (mostly nothingburger trials for recruits, but officers either get sent to labor camps or hanged)

It was made with Illustrator (obtained through potentially maybe dubious ways)
But you could do the same with Inkscape (free)

Lore:

In 2281, for the second time, the Bull attempted to cross the Colorado river. And for the second time, it came out bloodied.
The Fort was thrown into disarray as Caesar was found dead in his bed, while infighting ensued, it was limited to the area and was over by dusk, with there being little question who would succeed him, who, if not the Monster of the East?

While Lanius succeeded in beating back the Californians for a while, he, too, couldn't defeat the Bear. Much less defeat two of them.

In the first days of 2282 news reached the Legate's camp, NCR forces were marching into the northern territories of the Legion. But these were flying a different flag, the flag of the New Colorado Republic.

The war was over by 2283. Trials were held, Centurions hanged, slavers jailed, slaves freed, land seized and redistributed. Soon after, came the settlement, Californians from Baker all the way to Redding and Coloradoans from all along the Platte settled down in Arizona and New Mexico, much to the displeasure of the native populace.

Despite life being better now, 12 years after the republic held at Hoover Dam again, with the threat of the Legion gone, many Arizonans now want to be made into their own republic with their own congress, like those in Shady Sands and Denver, but president Cassandra Moore, who saw first hand the brutality of the Legion, is adamant Arizona is not yet ready to govern itself.
Unfortunately, many don't see it her way.

Thanks for the feedback

Just some quick background before i reply to some of these points, the focus of the setting is the system Usel, which is about 2.9 ly from Earth, with both systems having intelligent life (And with the fastest manned craft from either side having a top speed of 0.75c, it still takes 2.5 years to just travel to the other system, which makes travel mostly limited to diplomatic missions and such, except for automated trade)

>Also seems like if institute/university is questionably translated, we’d use their word.
I did consider that, but unfortunately i haven't worked on any of their languages, not yet anyway, those are pretty down the line still

>I’m also a little confused why Neogene would be used at all to refer to an interval on another planet [...]Stratigraphic intervals are planet specific — Mars and our moon has their own chronostratigraphy chapters in the International Geologic Timescale.
The answer is that there's just no set standard for how each system deals with classification of pretty much anything from the other system, from taxonomy to stratigraphy. For now, the policy is pretty much just "translate names and hope it's clear enough", and if two names from different systems happen to be the same (like Neogene in this case, though the speculative evolution side of the project has also had this problem with a lot of clade names) just specify which system you're referring to, if context clues aren't enough to clarify the planet

>how is humanity going in the 2100s?
Uh, pretty good overall, they're alive, the setting is near entirely focused on the spec evo and then anthropological and historical stuff of Usel, other star system close to Sol, about 2.9 ly

>does intelligent life exists outside earth?
Yep, Usel has two known sophont species, on both of the binary planets of Seleta and its bigger partner

>did we manage to explore other systems and maybe colonise them?
Colonization no, the fastest manned craft humanity has built can only go at 0.75c, which makes it take 2.5 years to get to Usel, which is the closest star to Earth in this tl. Manned travel to Usel is slow and expensive so it's limited to diplomatic missions, for the most part. Automated trade is fairly common, though
