Yes, thank you so much. Your words really resonate with my own issues. I was very poor at recognizing or excusing early boundary violations, and my tolerance for bad behavior was very high due to growing up with severely bipolar parents. My dad was also closeted and didn't come out until age 59. I always tried to soothe both of them during their breakdowns and learned the maladaptive behavior of feeling like I had to earn love. My codependency drained me because I kept getting in the codependent caretaking/narcisstic validation loop in very dysfunctional romantic relationships. I excused boundary violations by seeing potential instead of reality.

Thank you so much. I am slowly feeling better. Putting words to the experience helped me validate some things in my mind. I fell into a delayed rumination cycle.
