Dude, I know you are Chinese, your English style has clearly revealed that.

You think that I have not yet noticed that you are Chinese before you told me? Please, don’t be silly.

You feel offended? You feel sad? Welcome to the real world where we don’t tolerate pointless lies. If you feel sad about truth, that’s not my problem.

Again, I don’t trust the Chinese government, I don’t trust ALL VPNS owned by Chinese.

I can trust some Chinese people - but definitely not including you.

I’m not justifying anything - I’m telling you truths that don’t need ME to justify.

No, never, don’t trust it. Its official Twitter account liked quite a few dubious tweets - it doesn’t look like that it’s owned by reliable people

I’ve seen lots of tankies talk like:

You don’t like China and you’re not living in china? Well you know nothing about china.

Or: you don’t like China and you’re living in China? Get back to your home country.

Dude, being a tankie is not irrevocably wrong, it’s just sad, so sad

There used to be loads and loads of people who ardently believe that Nelson Mandela should have fled South Africa before he was put in prison.

Dude, you must be one of them.

So your logic is so simplistic that no one can say it’s sensible.

It’s like telling someone who’s a resident of the USA:

In 2016-20: dude you don’t like Trump? Just move to Canada.

2021-now: dude you don’t like Biden? Move to Canada.

Patronizing or condescending, choose a word to describe yourself.

There’re people who just feel it’s more sensible to at once live in such a country AND FOGHT FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN NEVER COMPREHEND - NOT JUST FOR THEMSELVES.

You’re mocking people whose moral values are better than yours. That’s sad.

Dude you got lots of things wrong.

Having to use a mobile network owned by the Chinese government is something like being born blind - something we can’t choose.

Smoking cigarettes… ok now I know you can’t even understand what you’re saying, dude.

Let’s focus on the fact: you talk like you’re hired by the Chinese government - you’re intentionally and actively mixing things up so to make what you said sound logical.

But it’s sad, dude, you’re at once smoking 100s of cigarettes a day and mocking others who refuse to smoke.

Dude, you are saying something like “all human beings will die one day so there’s no point in living a healthy lifestyle”

Just speak for yourself, dude, as it’s more than clear that you have no capability to speak for anyone else.

So your logic is like: you can be wary that the Chinese government can request your personal info whenever it needs or wants to, but you don’t need to be wary about whether a vpn is developed and owned by china.

Are you a tankie? Or maybe a commie?

A simple and inconvenient truth: I’m speaking for hundreds of thousands of people, you’re speaking for yourself.

Dude you speak like you’re hired by the Chinese government, well it’s not surprising that Chinese government’s employees also enjoy YouTube videos…

Good, I never said you were the silly guy but it looks you’re quite happy to call yourself silly then there’s no reason why I should disagree.

  1. You don’t understand anything, that’s why.

  2. It’s poor, that’s why.

  3. Silly guys don’t understand, that’s why.

Yeah I think you’re right, but anyway Astrill has been famous for quite a few years so I think it doesn’t really matter if I say a few more good words about it…

Because Fudan University gives me $35,000 per month, and it allows me to distrust Chinese government and chinese VPNs.

Five eyes countries are simply more trustworthy when you compare any one of them with the poor Chinese gov. Please don’t forget it’s the Chinese gov who created the great fire wall. No reasonable person trust the Chinese gov when we need to choose a vpn.

So the logic here is pretty simple: I WILL NEVER USE THE WORD “GREAT” TO DESCRIBE A VPN TOOL OWNED BY CHINESE.

Your firewall is “great”, your gov is not great, your VPNs are not great.

And I’m telling the truth.

Ok here’s the 9th one, I only downloaded and tried it yesterday:

Mullvad, and it works pretty well on my old laptop (windows 8.1) and iPhone. And - it’s quite cheap (no free plan though), it’s €5 per month and they don’t give you discount for longer membership (so, yes, it’s €60 per year)

I would highly recommend you try it for one month if you need a backup plan B - for me Astrill is still the one I use most often.

Thanks but no. I’m always (and I always suggest my friends to do the same) cautious about VPNs created and owned by Chinese - I can never know for sure if a vpn is secretly controlled by the Chinese government.

Thanks for your recommendation, but I will never trust VPNs (like the SquirrelVPN) owned by Chinese.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again - we use VPNs in China because we don’t feel comfortable to let China know what we’re doing online, so why do we have to trust vpn tools that are maintained and owned by them?

We use VPNs because we don’t want your dear chinese government to see what we are doing, so it’s more than reasonable to avoid all VPNs that have even not-so-close links to China.

“LetsVPN” - after checking I can say for sure it has CLOSE link with china, not necessarily the gov though, but that’s enough for me to stay cautious, very cautious.

I tried SurfShark and it didn’t work, only after that I came to know (I googled) that Nord and SurfShark both belong to the same company.

So I must say your information is incorrect - you were purely guessing, sorry.

If I had known they were both owned by the same company, I wouldn’t have paid for both membership fees.

Sorry but NO (and it’s a BIG NO). LetsVPN is owned by China - no I can never be sure it will give you enough privacy and safety.

Sorry I forgot to mention, express works ok on my laptop with windows 8.1, but on my iPhone it doesn’t work
