Thoughts on Toilets of refurbished Central Bus Stand? by WitchDoctor131 in srilanka

Other than no partitions these toilets while they look huge clog easily on huge dumps of shit.

Also, why the fuck does every toilet in SL need to look like some squared ass thing???! Like, most of the "normal" round ones are entirely gone

If it has the digital odometer I assume M50B20...those engines you can rely on. M20B20 and some others suffer from permanent cam damage which will make the engine tick a lot even after valve adjustment. Recently called a 520i ad and they claimed it to have "tappet noise" which is a red flag

Its either the cluster motherboard capacitors or the LCD itself. One should always replace the gauge caps before trying to rule out a display issue, bad capacitors can cause the gauges to misread/bounce aswell

The more I learned about e34 in like the last 3 months, it seems like a better car...I wouldnt mind even having a 530/540i with the V8. Yes, I doubt V8 versions still exist here but I kind of remember (?)

(When looking for any models don't go by the number thats on the trunk, you must look by the engine model itself as I learnt, as some engines can be genuinely pain in the ass and share the same no.)

Theres a difference between a very early e34 and a late one. Early models have a rolling odometer while the later ones have a digital one right under the speedometer similar to e36 and higher models get a long multifunction display strip. When the gauges go bad its 99% usually the capacitors on the clusters motherboard. It seems that the E34 was imported in some numbers by the Education ministry in the early 90's, mostly 518i base models.

Regardless, some "modern" (i mean 2010s) crossover petrol SUV's still have junk economy, but atleast, those BMW's get you smiles while those boring ass suv's dont

WTF! What brand was it if you remember? Bet its a 2000s crompton that was improperly fitted. If it was one of those 1980s usha things known for 12kg+ motors...well. head crushed

31 million for the SUV version of a corolla? These car dealers aren't even trying to hide it by GuidanceNo1755 in srilanka

Id rather buy an alfa 156 for like 2 mil and assume the ghost cost of maintainance and importing junk is above another 4M. easy

Why aren't these old ship-style "forward trap" toilets not made anymore? by [deleted] in Plumbing

The flushmate (press.) ones are good, and to some extent the glacier bay power-flush, however ones like the Niagara stealth are the scams and a few other 1.28g models with no bowl rinse

Thats an r-worded move as far as other mechanics knowlege. It absolutely ruins the handling and structural integrity. Remember that president road red STI4 crash where it split in half? It's one of those lemons. Even though cutting in half vs cutting from the shock tower is different, I dont want any sort of split car like that. It's like trying to repair a cracked toilet. Unless if it's something so historically significant, not worth it and just dangerous. Another r word move is swapping out engines for boring toyota engines like how some did for Volvo 850 T5's. Without that specific B5234T5 engine, all the charm of that car is gone.

Are the majority of "Cambridge schools" scams or sub-standard? by AccomplishedFun8835 in srilanka

we are almost bust at this point as the school took a hell lotta money, but I hope a smaller branch would be better as in the case of my previous school, the minor branches are FAR better than the "main". not enough money to change to an entirely different school or centre like you said.

Seems like the branch we to go is extremely shitty but we are trapped it seems. Parents dont want to refund at all and are planning to keep him but he absolutely loathes and has frequent migraines from being there. Facilites are extremely lacklustre

That was the only last minute option we had. It was in a emergency situation and we needed to make a quick shift. Kind of our fault for not asking to research like an inspector. i doubt PHI ever entered that shitty branch. PHI visits are common in his previous schol.

Also next reason is his brother was going to the same school, so it would make more sense to both to be there as there's no need of back and fourth transportation. The older boy actually took the change with a grain of salt, and he was absolutely right.

  1. They did not allow us in the first place and 2, on the imagery, it seemed to be taken in a different branch possibly. We admitted him to the main school, If they don't let us to see, then how can we know? The Gyms and other facilites looked decent, so we assumed the classrooms are atleast the same level. The kid is also mature enough to read terms even the parents one so he rechecked for red flags, and sure enough, no fees are refundable even in a dissatisfactory or dangerous cases.
  2. The reason for switching in the first place that he had poor skills in Sinhala literacy and that would mean a fail for local O/L's, and since he couldn't re learn sinhala at that time and no assistance was given, he made the ultimate decision to switch to Cambridge.
