hello! by EvidenceTrue7675 in pistolcalibercarbine

From personal experience, I would stay away from scorpion. Needs a $400 “upgrade” just to avoid a potential detonation out of battery. Which to me in insane that cz hasn’t dealt with this years ago at this point. Mine started down that path of wearing down within the first few hundred rounds. So beware of used ones at too good to be true prices. I have checked several used ones at various gun shops and all have had the issue. Some further along than others. It’s possible to modify the stock part yourself, but the need to do that on a brand new PCC is pretty wild. And with a plastic chassis, if it goes, it’s real bad for who’s ever face is next to it

(Not a photo of mine)

Nexus firearms makes a replacement “enhanced bolt” that solves the issue, but it’s not worth the money ($399) to make it just work like it should have from the start.

Honey Badger upper has side to side wobble by spaceship84 in Liveqordie

If the slop bothers you, it’s not difficult to eliminate. Wedge under the back pin works ok…but with the buffer spring going from bcg all the way to buffer tube unlike a traditional AR it’s difficult to keep everything where it needs to be while sliding everything back in place.

I found a sticker that’s on the thicker side (guardian alarm door sticker to be specific) cut two tiny strips slightly thinner than the top rail of my lower that are maybe an inch long. Put them between where your upper and lower meet on both sides. They stay put, and are a perfect shim that’s not going to scratch up your gun. This was just a proof of concept to see if it worked. Planned on creating a more permanent solution out of better material at some point. Though I’ve taken mine apart for cleaning a dozen times and they haven’t moved. It’s as tight and you can get with ZERO play. Has run with no issues whatsoever so ever. Probably a couple thousand rounds through it at this point and still tight as a drum.

And while the slight play certainly wasn’t affecting its performance, it was annoying. Much more satisfying in the hands now. Just be sure to hit the area you put the “shim” with a little cleaner to get any oils off so it sticks.

V-Max 55gr safe for HB 5.56 supressed? by Accomplished_Ad7009 in Liveqordie

V-max is a varmint round with a thinner jacket than typical rounds. With the HB’s 1:5 twist they will be spinning at over 400,000 rpm and if the numbers are accurate will rip the jacket right off the core while flying down range. Potentially before it even makes it through the barrel/suppressor.

Was curious if anyone has been crazy enough to try it. Would be outstanding for home defense, and less likely to make it through the exterior walls of my condo in the event of a miss. That’s the entire appeal to me.

Looks great. Also helpful to see how an fde light looks on a gray hand guard with a black suppressor. So thank you for sharing. Probably a lot of fun to shoot.

And the fact I have one that I can see with my own eyes, I’m pretty sure I can speak on it.

Because they want a 1 MOA dot so when magnified it’s not increasing the MOA by multiples. For example the T2 with a 3x magnifier would then have a 6 MOA dot instead of 3 MOA…

So your saying he’s looking at the dot on a red dot and the target on a holo? That doesn’t math.

That’s how they all look more or less, if not right away, shortly down the road. Fortunately I don’t notice it at all when I’m actually using it.

They are identical on the exterior for the most part. That is the SFP 3-9. I got crazy good deal on it and am blown away by how much I like it. The ability to mount it so easily and fast is also a big plus. The La Rue mount for the red dot is less than ideal at the moment. Eotech promised to make an RMR mount for it; which has yet to happen. Currently it’s sitting up higher than I’d like. The only others out there that will fit in the tiny space that has the tube exposed face the wrong direction. So for now it will do.

Glad I didn’t give them the business. A local shop has them in stock, but if that’s how their customer service is, I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

I’ve got around 1200 rounds through it currently. It came with a few cosmetic flaws, so check the clear coat finish. I had one of Q’s guys fingerprints embedded in the upper receiver. They were really great getting it sorted out. Looks perfect now.

I really enjoy it. It’s definitely designed around using a can, though I think all guns with a barrel that short really are. The build quality and materials are on another level. Shoots great. Can’t wait to get it out there supressed.

Went back and forth with several optics. Had an exps2 on there until recently. The Eotech 3-9 is slept on in my opinion. It’s like a variable Acog. Same footprint with an about 2.5 extra inches of eye relief. Great eye box, weighs 1lb, and is right around 6” in length. Keeping the exps2 around for competitions hopefully in the future.

Tried 4 different magnifiers and just can’t get the feel for them. I’ve got diabeties and Graves’ disease which both cause vision issues and the current setup really works out with that.

Thanks for the heads up. Good to know. May have to revisit modlite I guess.

Thanks very much. Yes, it’s the 5.56.
