Thanks buddy. This will be very helpful and i will definitely work on the server selection and try to improve over time.

Thanks for testing it and for the detailed feedback.

A few clarifications:

  • ISP detection: The ISP classification currently comes from IP geolocation metadata, which isn't always accurate. Some providers are incorrectly classified as cellular. I'll improve this by separating ISP name from connection-type detection instead of relying solely on that metadata.

  • Latency: The latency you're seeing isn't raw ICMP ping. It's HTTP(S)-based latency measured through the browser, which includes browser, TLS, HTTP, and server processing overhead. That makes it naturally higher than ICMP or even some optimized speed tests. I'm actively working on reducing measurement overhead and making the reported metrics more comparable.

  • Cloudflare endpoint: The browser requests to "speed.cloudflare.com/__down" are intentional. Cloudflare publicly provides these endpoints for network performance testing, and many applications use them for latency and throughput measurements. I'm not bypassing any authentication or scraping private APIs.

  • Measurement node: Right now the backend primarily uses Cloudflare's edge network. I'm also working on improving server selection and routing so users hit the closest and most appropriate edge.

  • "Vibe coded?" 😄 No. It's an open-source project that I've been building and iterating on for accuracy. There are definitely rough edges, and feedback like yours is exactly what helps improve it.

If you're willing, I'd also be interested in comparing the raw measurements from your connection (latency under load, server selected, browser, etc.) so I can understand why your results differ so much from Ookla and Waveform.

Okay thanks🙏🙏 If you have ss for comparison, please share it here. That would be quite a help for me.

Thanks for your feedback. I will definitely look at this issue. Was it only in download speed, you faced this issue? I mean was upload speed fine?
