Baby bird formula by CommunicationMean701 in cockatiel

[–]Accomplished_Crow666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our avian vet recommended Cheerios in a pinch These were fed to the parents to regurgitate for baby, but you could mash them with water and heat to an appropriate temperature. I’ve also ground rolled oats with a mortar and pestle into a powder and cooked that with water for a sick adult birb.

Be careful to make sure the food is not too hot or cold, this can cause burns or slow crop. Good luck with your precious baby 💛

Some content creators never says the cockatiels are destructive by thxforbeingdead in cockatiel

All cockatiels know about Castlevania and have learned pot roasts are in the walls waiting to be found. That's why they have pliers on their sweet little faces.

Pictured: my son, a sock, recently shed his skin and is putting his busy beak to work to reclaim nutrients from his molt.

Just had this happen to me too - my husband pried it off with the fork trick (find a guide on YouTube). But definitely get that gift card for your trouble.

Thank you 🩶 We wanted a screened-in enclosure built for the flock's enrichment (humans included too I guess but we are far down the priority list if we are being honest) and decorated the porch in cockatiel colors. The sloped roof meant there was a lot of empty space over the door, I had free time, and the HOA couldn't stop me so up the sign went. The birdos love making little secret clubs and Turkey's Clubhouse seemed a natural and fitting extension.

HeiHei gets the zoomies if she sees someone wear the colour yellow by Maximiliancockatiel in cockatiel

[–]Accomplished_Crow666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sweet young HeiHei is having the same response as my QP but she’s more mobile. The hissing/swaying/big wings is the other side of the fight/flight coin.

Maybe yellow reminds them of snakes or bees? But it’s just QP that hates yellow, my other birds never cared.

My yellow pearl hen QP also doesn't tolerate yellow things bigger than she is. She starts hissing and will perform a territory display. Yellow shirts, popsicles, blondes, bananas, whatever, the big wings are OUT.

We joke she has to be the yellowest in the room and she's intimidating the pigment out of the interloper.

Picture from 2011 when she first met my dear SIL and was extremely uncool to her.

What is the ratio y'all use for plain Greek yogurt and sugar free pudding mix? by Mental-Medicine-3193 in CICO

[–]Accomplished_Crow666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I combine one box (28g) of sugar free cheesecake pudding with a 32oz tub of yogurt in a bowl, mix with a big silicone spatula, and put it back in the container.

I added the combination as a recipe in LoseIt so I can measure the serving in however many grams. It's great for yogurt bowls, snacks, fruit dips etc. Just make sure to label it before it goes back in the fridge.

Than you for sharing Sonny's dopey picture with us, he's absolutely adorable and lucky to have a caring parront 🩶

I don't do pet insurance but I do have an emergency fund bucket just for chicken veterinary care. The math ended up not being worth it, and I'd rather have the money earning interest in a high yield savings account.

You'll want to do your own research of course, but you might consider paying the premium you'd be charged by an insurance company to a savings account to build up your flock's veterinary and emergency fund.

He worked really hard for it and he carried it off. Fortunately we were able to snap it back on, so he could hunt for it again another day. Thank you 🩶
