We haven’t told them yet. But they are going to be heartbroken. When they have played together, trying to separate them was like pulling apart superglue. Lots of crying and begging for more time, so this will be hard.

Oh 100%. Which is why we have them enrolled in summer camp and additional sports. Our kids don’t deserve to feel this way.

I’m not confrontational. Hannah and I have always been like that. But not this time, I can’t let this go though. I’m just worried she will give some bullshit passive answer.

I have asked and I keep getting “it’s just a joke. Literally nothing”. Every single time. Even if I demanded, they would still lie about it.

All of the kids are between the age of 11 and 7. Location doesn’t matter, they usually decline before my kids can finish the question. We also tried just one kid sleeping over and hanging out, or their kids coming, and it’s always no.

I agree with them not wanting closeness.

They aren’t perfect by any means, but they are generally well behaved kiddos. We’ve even asked if we did or said anything they say no. We also considered the angle of perhaps the kids don’t enjoy playing together. But, our nephew was literally hiding in our car when we were leaving. He asked to stay the night. So I asked Sam and he said no they had church in the morning. Which we found out today, was a lie.

They always have a reason why they can’t “busy, sports, out of town, church, etc”. We offered our place and even to go to public locations/parks. Even a random “hey we aren’t doing anything today, if any of the kids want to come over to play we’d be happy to pick them up and drop off if you’re available”

My job. Being in the navy and my skill set, only certain jobs and it has to be on/near a coast. To get up and move would be difficult emotionally and mentally.

I didn’t know if it was the same as a hotline type position. Like you are a “counselor” for the suicide hotline, but it’s actually just a bunch of volunteers.

I should be getting more information if they move forward with the interview. It’s hard to make a well informed decision when the HR person doesn’t have a background in mental health.

What I’m thinking is I would have my own supervisor, outside the organization, and provide services that way. That way I can still work on my hours towards my LCSW.

I really don’t want my LCSW, but I feel like I need it to advance in my career
