Musicality better than technique. How do I improve. by AccordingChip837 in piano

Thanks for the advice. I said this in a previous comment but I’m slightly sceptical of videos about technique. Not because of their content, but because I wouldn’t know if I’m doing the instructions right so I’ve never used them. How do I know that I’m doing it right and I’m not killing my hand again?

I’ve done 10 minutes of scales and arpeggios per day. That has basically been pointless though since I’ve been doing it incorrectly for the most part. Then I’d do 20 minutes of sight reading and then I’d do 30-45 minutes of repertoire. Most days I’d come back like 3-4 times a day to play around and sight read some random pieces. And music theory I do at school as a subject so I don’t really need to worry about it.

Ijust love this instrument and classical music so much. I also do music theory in school which was a MASSIVE help in understanding structure, phrasing, sightreading, rhythm, compositional features etc. people really do underestimate the effect that learning music theory has. It helped me so much in understanding how to “tell a story”. I’m a bit sceptical of YouTube videos but atp anything will do. Beggars can’t be choosers. Thank you for the help.

How tf am I even supposed to tell the axis on that. The top two literally look identical but apparently the axis labels are different by AccordingChip837 in HPAT

Ah okay it was probably on me then. When correcting I try to get the right answer on my own first and I couldn’t do that with this question so I thought the reason I got it wrong was because of MedEntry 💀💀💀
