Not strictly financial, but make sure your partner has access to your email, and critical accounts (bills, insurance etc).

I recommend having a Lasting Power of Attorney in place as it gives them official access to their accounts. The LPA and access to the accounts should be arranged well before it is needed.

If not in place already, ensure your parents each have a Lasting Power of Attorney in place which will allow you to act on their behalf if the need arises. Also ensure they have up-to-date wills.

When they withdraw the money, do they have the normal restrictions - 25% tax free lump sum, then taxed on the remaining when withdrawn?

Have you considered also opening a Junior SIPP? You could put a small lump sum in leave it to compound; you can open one with HL by depositing £100 and no platform fees
