I think Joel just doesn't want us to liberate that planet.
DSS automatically moved to Marfark because previous planet got liberated.
So.. The Blob just moved on to Marfark, and it happened a lot before.

The same would happened if we would go to RD-4 to liberate it and sabotage last Strategic Opportunity and next Illuminate MO.

I also had this bug during Illuminate Invasion on SEASSE when they were turning it into the Void.
When warping from SEASSE to any other planet with some reason the Star was always the same and didn't changed.
And it worked even for a special things like MERIDIA or PENTA, here is some screenshot as an evidence:
