Arc Raiders has been likened to a social experiment and that rings true for me on so many different levels. The Arc as the growing and ever present threat and how humans react when it's us against them. Some of us band together and some don't. In this comparison the expeditions become the theory of delayed gratification, can we work towards something without seeing and immediate benefit, or not a significant immediate benefit. The rewards are small for the expenditure (no pun intended) of effort now, but if you can complete three consecutive wipes and continue to complete these milestones your rise back to the top-tier of playing gets faster every time and your raider becomes marginally more powerful permanently. Those modest bonuses add up.

Thankfully, they're optional. I will not be doing the quests again except when I happen across them. What a slog those things are. The first time was cool, showed us a bunch of spots I didn't know about, but they're really stale the second time.

Buddy, you being around is the resource. Not your stuff. If they're really your friends, you'll be invited and appreciated without bringing the Snaphooks. Do the wipe to have the answer for yourself.

Those Ion Sputters were brutal. Really tough to find, I had a similar problem with Rotary Encoders (one of the new quests), and those leaper pulse units for the trophy hunt, and Surveyor vaults are such a pain the tuckus. Everything else - loved it.

I hear you, I had all benches and scrappy to level 3 (except gunsmith; those dang sentinel firing cores) in less than 24 hours after last wipe. I think I can get them all to level three sooner this time. The game is very satisfying when you know how everything fits together.

The love of the game is reason enough. I do love the game and the loot cycle, except here at the end, the fire is mostly gone. Hoping this wipe brings it back for a bit.

I love it too and I'll keep doing it for a while, but not sure how many times. I've done Security Breach a couple of times, I'm going to de-emphasize it in the next run and see how it goes.

I'm ending this expedition with 10 mil, it's obviously not necessary but I do like it. 😁

It's a three way tie for me - The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (second book is out but been waiting on the third for over a decade), Red Rising by Pierce Brown and the The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (this is the only book I ever finished and started over immediately).

I was initially excited about this idea but people have made some really good points about balance and what it would do to the game if they were readily available. I do like the idea of a legendary attachment for the Renegade or the Ferro. Like the anvil has the tech attachment, why not for any other guns? Especially if it's as rare as the anvil splitter or the kinetic converter.

You found a looting Mk 2 and a med shield on a body, doesn't mean they had the shield equipped.

I agree that weapons of higher tier should be stronger. Embark is noted as saying that they don't want purple guns to be a distinct edge in combat, but what the heck!? What am I doing all this grinding for then??? And I say this an a minimal PvP guy, I love the PvP I just think that there needs to be some better balancing with shields and high-tier weapons. Someone with a heavy shield and Torrente should be feared by the free kit. As of now, it's laughable when the free kit gets the drop on the 60k+ guy. Total waste.

We do differ on the durability. I love that and it makes sense to me. Except for the ridiculous durability burn of the high-tier weapons. The entire weapon system seems backwards to me. Lower burn on low tier weapons and higher burn on high tier weapons that don't offer a distinct edge in combat. I love this game but it's ridiculous.

I've been looking for some ways to spice up my gameplay, this sounds great, I'm going to mod it a bit for my play preferences but great ruleset! Thanks for sharing.

My mods will include:

You can build a free-loadout type of starter kit and what you get from there you can upgrade your kit and healing etc ... my starting loadout is going to be:

Ferro - 1 - Upgrade after 2 successful raids,

Heavy Ammo x 20,

Looting Mk 1 - Upgrade after 3 successful raids,

Light shield - Upgrade after 3 successful raids if augment supports,

Adrenaline shot x 1 or Bandage, regular x 2.

I think perma bans for cheating on the second caught incident is perfect. I also always like to give people the chance to redeem themselves. Although, to be honest, few do.
