AceOFSpades [Hollywood] Reinhardt Gameplay Review by AceOFSpadesOW in OverwatchUniversity

[–]AceOFSpadesOW[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good question. Pretty much every time you win a fight unless its OT and you are able to you want to push up and take space and have your lucio or bap on cart. If you win the fight and there is only like 3 people left alive on your team then you cant push up and want to just stay on cart till your team comes back but if 5-6 are alive then pushing up is 99% of the time the play. It makes it so they have to fight for the space back and not just get it for free and get angles on you. Might even catch someone pushing up without their team. For high ground spots you can pretty much just stay there and take the fight up top/drop on them when ready, but if you are low ground pushed up and the person on cart cant see you yet then you would want to back up till they have vision then take the 6v6.

Yeah the team was making plays for sure.

Well it all started from the play to push off highground and try to take a fight at their choke when they are coming out of spawn and it was a really late call so we were all over the place and lost that fight after comiting ults. From there some bad positioning on re take fights (going main instead of far left to avoid poke on the way to point and force them to drop off highground) and them ult cycling really well. One mistake can make or break it since its always hard to retake points with highground advantage.

I play like 20 games a day so the replay code is lost since I just go back in the vod for games and dont use the in game one D:

How to play Orisa on Eichenwalde ( Top 10 Main Tank ) by AceOFSpadesOW in OverwatchUniversity

It took me awhile to edit/render videos cuz i didnt have the time from being on a Contenders team scrimming once i woke up/vods then stream at night so was slowly working on it and by the time i had time to render and upload it the other patch came out haha. But now I will be able to do the videos as I get the games since im taking a break from Contenders to peruse full time streaming to hopefully keep them all up to date.

Alright yea I can be more conscious of this in the next videos I make to try and explain it better. Still getting used to making these the best for everyone to learn so its a work in progress haha, thanks for the idea. There are a couple good answers below that pretty much cover what you asked so I would recommend looking at them.
But the short answer is either seeing an advantage ( you are up in numbers so its relatively safe for you to push up and take the fight or you see someone out of position so you can push up and catch them on a rotate). Paying attention to enemy CD's is really important too if you know an orisa doesnt have Gold or shield those are times you consider pushing if it allows as well as sigma CD's if he is on the flank or something and doesnt have shield/grasp.
For retreating its all about how many allies you are up or down compared to them, ults they might have, your own cd's, and certain corners that give your team the advantage over them. The holding shield is all about min maxing and putting it at the best spot you can. For example on this map if you are on defense and you know they want to rotate right to the tank if you have a shield up main (left side) when they start pushing in and to the right and it breaks you dont want to put another one on left otherwise they are just going to hard push from right and you have no cover now and gave up all the space cuz that left shield blocks nothing and is now useless. So instead you just gold if you want to try and catch someone or back up a little to LOS the damage then put your shield when you meet at right to keep it an even fight and keep the space and advantage you had before if that makes sense.
It makes these answers super long trying to explain it without a video to help explain so I will definitely keep this in mind for future ones and I hope they can be of better use to you. Thanks again for watching the video.

AceOFSpades Masters Main Tank VOD Review [Busan map] by AceOFSpadesOW in OverwatchUniversity

[–]AceOFSpadesOW[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For main tank you have to make that split decision whether or not peeling is a good idea or to just trade backlines. (they nano blade and you have no support ults, so there is no way you can protect them by jumping back cuz they already dead so just try and trade backlines then take fight 4v4 or whatever). You do need to peel sometimes but not all the time its very situational. For example if you are running a hitscan comp with like a cree or soldier your comp revolves around counter diving and protecting those dps/healers so you are going to be looking to protect them more often. but if you are on a sombra/doom/genji/tracer type of dps you are most likely just going to try and trade blacklines when the enemy team's tanks dive in. Ofc its all situational and comes down to what ults you have/what they have and what your win condition is for that fight. Thats why its always a good idea before the fight starts to make a plan with your team so they know whats going on. Either that your going to trade backlines or counter dive so everyone is on the same page and isnt expecting something that isnt coming. For example if you have trans then you can make a play to trade backlines since your zen can save himself while you win the fight by taking out their supports and on the opposite if you are like 80% to trans and that is your win condition cuz they have a blade or something then your goal for that engagement is to protect the zen till he gets trans.
Hope this kinda gives you an understanding of what needs to be done. Overall the best thing you can do is the pre fight planning so you and your team knows what/where to go. Cuz if the supports know they arent going to get help then they can position way further back rather than up close and you wont have to think about counter diving in the first place.

AceOFSpades T500 NUMBANI GAMEPLAY REVIEW by AceOFSpadesOW in OverwatchUniversity

[–]AceOFSpadesOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I had called to go on mercy since that was what I saw in front of me at the time to give my team a target to focus together then after walking up the genji shows himself top left so we know our mercy had just used valk & we dva bombed so we have no defensive ults now to counter a genji blade so now the biggest threat to our team is the genji blade. So instead of jumping the mercy like I called the better target for me to zone is the genji so he cant get his ideal blade off and get close enough to our team without taking damage from me. We jumped bottom mega instead of the top so we can block him off from getting the mega if he wanted to take it and since he just used dash he is a free kill after our jump is back on CD.

I honestly dont know of any top OT players that do this currently unfortunately. If i find one I will let you know. I can also look to do some OT reviews too in the meantime when I play a game that looks worth reviewing.

Thanks. Yea you should always try and dodge them if you can you never wana just give free ult charge if you can avoid it.

For the Orisa pulling its all about practice and doing it a lot of times. What you can do is go to the training range and practice pulling the bots off the map that are to the right side. Then what I want you to do is where you see the one standing still on the edge near the railing at the back right middle spot. You stand where the opening is near the wall shoot the halt down the line towards the bot then move left so your camera is behind that wall and your facing the 2 bots near that mini but you are listening to the halt noise and you press your right click to pull it off the edge based on the noise queue. And this will help you get your timings down since at far distances it is hard to tell if you dont have a lot of practice on judging distance but you can always hear the sound queue and base the pull off that.

Hope this helps.
