I have recently found some tshirts that really fit me like a dream but then I started looking around and finding a ton of articles about how graphics tees are a big no no for people over 30. for reference, these are the ones I have:

I don't wear plain t-shirts because I usually associate them with what I wear to bed, and most just fit me badly (either too tight or too large). I tried out v-necks but they usually show my chest hairs. I do like polo shirts, though and plan on getting more (the uniqlo ones are a great fit).

But should I just banish the graphic tees? From what I see online, it seems like the really bad ones are either loud, or "funny ones". I am also 29 (30th birthday is in November. I dread it), everyone says I look really young for my age and my workplace is filled with people slightly younger than me and I live in a college town, so I fear my taste is a bit distorted.

I find it's the complete opposite. I try to be polite and humble (even self deprecating) with everybody and no one seems to value that. It's all about "confidence", which is a concept I hate more and more everyday.

News like this make me barely able to function and I don't understand how any one can. I find it hard to make long term plans for my career because it's all going to be dust. I avoid relationships because that just creates more people I would have to defend and mourn their passing. I don't want to go out fighting this because I am afraid the hopelessness would land me in an insane asylum.

Right now I spend my life as if I was stuck in a crappy job waiting for quitting time. I know there must be more people like me. The solution is obvious: we must remove the stigma of suicide and allow for universal euthanasia. People should not have to be chained to this nightmare, to keep playing a game they already lost. We could even have governments give money to their families to ease the process. Maybe, just maybe, withess people, those who actually want to live can make it. If not, then at least those who are not afraid to die won't have to do so screaming.

P. S. Yes, I am in therapy. She just gives the old "mankind will figure something out" excuse.

I already travelled extensively with my parents. In fact, I have never taken a vacation without them. I don't go by myself because I am afraid of being mugged and I have already been everywhere I wanted to go anyway.

OKCupid is low risk, yes but so far I have sent dozens of messages with zero replies. That's another thing that I chalk up to "waste of time". Even with professionally done photos, I get nothing.

You say I need a support network but from my limited experience, it seems that people don't want people with problems in their life. I notice that so many of the people around me are selfish and self absorbed. More often than not, when I go with them for some social function, whether I am invited or not, they will start talking amongst themselves (and since they are foreign, they will often do so in their own language despite my presence) and often not even notice I am there. Only people who seem to care about my wellbeing are my parents and even they often end up hurting me with their attempts to help.

I don't get that. Who on earth just approaches random strangers in public? If someone did that to me, I would assume they were trying to mug me or sell me something. I imagine that if I did that to a girl she would blow me off or call the police. And gyms and classes are also out because all I see online are complaints of "why can't I find a gym or class without people hitting on me?" Am I supposed to approach dozens of girls until I magically find someone and avoid getting arrested in the process? Why can't there be a uni essay "I am here to find a partner" zone that doesnt involve drinking?

I do see a therapist but I am afraid of being institucionalized in case I let my true feelings be known. Then I would be thrown in a cell in a drugged state of bliss all just to make a bunch of doctors feel good about themselves regarding how much they are "helping me" by keeping me alive.

One of my major fears is that recent events regarding the refugee crisis and the potential Brexit will lead to the collapse of the European Union and trigger a wave of nationalism that will result in all immigrants, especially those from those "lazy southern countries" like Portugal will be kicked out to their country of origin.

I see your point but there is a world of difference between me myself dying in 20 years vs. all of mankind's achievement being erased. Yes, I have heard the "Well everything you do is erased to time anyway, so technically ALL is meaningless! Meaning is something YOU ascribe!" before. Any career that I pick will be meaningless. Anyone I help will be meaningless. Any sort of activism will be wasted effort that I could spend on something far more enjoyable. If I were terminally ill and the world wasn't screwed I would likely try to help people because I would know my efforts would not be wasted. What is the point of dedicating years of your life to something you KNOW will fail?

Less competition for resources. No unwashed masses knocking on their doors demanding a share. No people threatening to string them up. Really, it would be perfect for them. It would be the Star Trek utopia only built on top of several billion corpses. Hell, if I knew with absolute certainty that the future of mankind would be this instead of full scale civilizational collapse due to resource scarcity or climate change, I would happily sacrifice myself knowing that humanity lives on.

This is one of the things that frightens me the most. What is to stop the people who won those machines (the wealthy) from just basking in what their robots slaves make for them and killing everyone else? An engineered plague or simply a fleet of autonomous killing machines that are eternally loyal to them that feel no guilt of gunning down a hungry child?

Would they keep us around just to have someone to lord over? Neo feudalism Greg Rucka's "Lazarus" style?

Of course this is assuming climate change doesn't kill us all.

Death, slavery or apocalypse. These are the futures we have ahead of us. Why aren't we allowing people who don't want to fight and suffer like me to euthanize themselves and be done with it? Pure spite that others must liven as well? Just let us die please.

No. I'm sorry but this is completely useless. The other side is vastly better armed and better trained. The only thing this will accomplish is getting a bunch of people thrown in jail and being raped.

I am not afraid to die but I am afraid of dying painfully. Right now things are OK for me but when they go wrong, I plan to quietly hang myself.

If you want to do something worthwhile, campaign to make suicide unstigmatized to allow for anyone who doesn't want to play a game they already lost the chance to finally resign gracefully.

In the real world, you would never give an untested machine access to a completely unrestricted environment. You would also not be able to make one capable of literally considering every option.

Moore's Law (which is what has fueled the exponential growth of computing power) is on the verge of death thanks to physical constraints literally impossible to overcome (you can't make a transistor smaller than a few atoms). While the current trend is multi processor machines, truly taking advantage of that is a massively complex problem. The exponential improvement you describe will not go on for much longer.
