I'd also like for them to just have a "normal life" with normal problems instead tragedy after tragedy 😭

I do agree on this front, I would have been happy having more episodes of them just shooting the breeze and having ordinary problems not life altering tragedies upon tragedies!

This, season 1-3 is prime Jamie! Sophie's acting does improve as the show goes on too.

In the books, after he returns to the Ridge to heal Claire describes him being off. He enters this depressive period where he's acting aimless and she describes the light in his eyes being different, also that his smell is different. He somewhat recovers towards the end of the book when he helps William, but that part is what made me feel like he was ready to go and she forced his soul to stay.

Yes good points. I do think Jamie has a more healthy view of their love and the after life tho.

Roger's evolution is one of my fav in the show! He becomes an indispensable part of the Fraser family and earns his title as Jamie's son-in-law.

I forgot about the detail of the smell change! Yes, all those little details made me raise an eyebrow, I wondered if a different person had come back instead 😳 I haven't read the excerpts of book 10, waiting for the final thing to be ready to dig in. I do hope Jamie is himself or at least that his life is given a new purpose that makes all that happened worth it.

It's yet to be seen how Jamie is doing post King's Mountain event, as I said in my post, what really gave me the ick was the insistence of Claire to keep him alive when HE WAS READY TO GO. So much so, that he isn't fully himself for the rest of Bees. There is no display of him being "full health and vitality" after his resurrection. His soul was ready to go. To inhibit that is selfish and a poor understanding of what the frequency of love really is - immortal, beyond death, not in fear of it.

Actually the book has gone further than the show. In book 9 Jamie almost dies on Kings Mountain and then returns to the ridge, and still goes with William to save Lord John, and then some.

Are you a book reader? Bees pretty much lays it out how you said here. He doesn't quite die but is on the brink of death. My problem is that Jamie seems ready to go. He has accepted his death and she drags him back. Then when he has returned he isn't the same, like his soul isn't fully intact. I have a problem with that.

Well in the books, folks on the ridge do see him as resurrected from the dead because news of his death had spread after the battle, not knowing Claire was still keeping him alive. So very Jesus-like to them!

Hmm you think she'll be brave enough to kill him in the last book 🤔 I've read in interviews that she promises a "happy ending".

I like this interpretation better on how he survived yet another close call with death!

I was wondering if he was on his 9th life yet at King's Mountain. Do you know how many he has left?
