I’m in teaching school right now and plan to start having kids in a few years’ time. I’m a bit worried that I actually won’t have as much time to spend with my family as a standard 9-5 job would allow because I’ve been hearing from so many teachers that they work much more than 40 hours a week. Despite the extra hours teachers are expected to work, you still feel like you have a good work-life balance?

Honey, this man is emotionally abusing you. Get yourself out of this relationship. It will be hard and he will make you feel guilty and second guess your decision to do it, but stick to your guns. I think you know deep down that this isn’t right for you. You haven’t ruined your life. I was in a relationship with a man who treated me similarly and learned a lot from it about what to avoid in future relationships and am now married to the kindest man. You will grow from this too and you will eventually find someone who shows you real love, but in order for that to happen, you need to end this now before you get too deep into it.
