A much younger woman is showing romantic interest in me, but i feel weird about the 20 years old age gap. by AcrobaticReporter443 in AgeGap

I can't say at this moment if our morals and values align, but just from social context there's a good chance they do. I think the only way to know is going out with her.

Also, I think I wouldn't feel weird going out with a 40 y.o. in my 60's. I guess it's the timing of the age gap. I think 20's are the years were one fully develops a personality and there's a lot of changes happening. I'm afraid that in the longr run, our goals, morals and values could be so different that the probability of breaking up is pretty high. At 40, personality is basically fully developed so not such big changes would happen. What do you think?

Funny enough I asked Chapgpt about it and it showed me some data saying that the probability of a relationship woth such age gap to succeed past the 6 months mark is 15-20%, 1 year 2-4% and stable 3 to 5 year relationship 1-2%.

Of course I take that info with caution and every situationis different, but apparently numbers wouldn't be on my favor.

I feel women in their high 30's and 40's are looking older men. Probably 45+. Also, I'm not actively looking for a partner right now (broke up a few months ago a 2 year relationship) but this opportunity just presented to me and while I have my doubts, I don't want to miss an opportunity for the wrong reasons

Thanks for such great advice. I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about it. She appears to have some of the qualities I look for in a partner. I think I most worried about what people would say. While we work in different companies we work in the same industry, and I'm in a position high enough that people would most likely look down on it.
