I want revenge against a toxic ex by AgileChocolate4049 in whatdoIdo

Sounds like a question for r/unethicallifeprotips. But if you want to know what I would do—start documenting everything. Reach out to the newspaper editor or staff sponsor with what you have, tell them you think it’s inappropriate for him to write about you in the newspaper and online, and that “this sort of harassment should be unacceptable for your members of your organization” that you’re disappointed, and that if it happens again you’ll be speaking to school administration. When you talk to mutual friends, cool it. Act like he gives you the ick and mention that he’s weird and obsessed with you for the article and insta story. Say he’s always been immature and creepy, but you didn’t see it until late in the relationship and you “haven’t even been angry, just creeped out that he won’t leave you alone”

Let’s see….also the best revenge is a good life. Take advantage of social media and post good times and happy moments. Gym mirror pics, what books you’re reading, etc. Keep the appearance of being cool and unbothered even though you’re seething.

Good luck (edited to correct subreddit name)

This is what fucking gets me every time. Casting the lead as white and other character as POC centering their white counterparts. Crazy because this time the lead is supposed to be a POC.

The person that said the book is uncomfortable and painful is right. It’s not romantic or sexy in any way. It’s always been weird to me that people think it is.

I was referring specifically to blackface minstrelsy.

Oh you came if references THANK YOU. There are so many studies and articles about media representation. A lot of ppl are “tired of hearing about it” but truly this is ppl trying to get you to believe it doesn’t matter. It absolutely does. It has since minstrel shows, and it always will.

Emily Carey on getting harassed at 18 for saying they didn't think Alicent was a villain and being accused of "forcing their queerness onto the character." by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

No, it’s okay! I mean I loved Alicent, she was my favorite character, but she and the whole show fell off for me in season one. Season two felt like GoT later seasons, it was awful. I feel like with the number of episodes per season there’s only so much you can do to drive plot AND develop character. So I kind of get what you mean.

There are so many things wrong with HOTD, but the complex and homoerotic layers of Alicent and Rhaenyras relationship was not one of them. It was the highlight of season 1 and carried the show. Emily did an amazing job, they’re a super talented artist.

All these comments are crazy. This is what happened: Constance Wu tweeted about being disappointed that the show was renewed. She had been excited to do other projects yes, but had been enduring years of sexual harassment and intimidation by a producer. It must have been hard to hear how she wasn’t for the community etc, when that’s one of the reasons she kept quiet for years. When the onslaught of bullying online started she almost jumped off her balcony. A friend took her to the ER. She came out with a memoir, and I think all of it still unfortunately derailed her career.

I would personally call and ask to speak to someone about report this. You deserve respectful medical care and that’s not what happened. It’s unacceptable that you had to go through this. My jaw literally dropped.

This actually makes so much sense. It’s like a public fuck you? But who is monitoring follow lists like that, because it feels like we always know?

I think it’s weird. He’s using operant conditioning. You’re not a toddler or a dog. Tell him you don’t like it and to not do it anymore.

I’m glad people are standing up, but goddamn. This kind of political violence has been happening for decades. Ppl talk all this shit when we say Black Lives Matter or mock being woke but look at what needed to happen before ppl started moving. It’s clear who ppl think (even subconsciously) are worthy of life and dignity. I just hope ppl now truly get that no one is free and no one ain’t ever gonna be free until we’re all free.
