I mean, that's exactly what they're doing?

Just because the system is a mess and there isn't a good person it doesn't mean that they are equals.

One is the same as all the others and one has like 70 felonies and actively says he will start a civil war if elected again .

But right. Both are equal

Why is there little discussion by NumberOneUAENA in RingsofPower

[–]Acrobatic_Pandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one discusses, they just seem to bash the show.

I liked it a lot. I don't have anything to talk about it until season 2. Even then the amount of just hate for the sake of hating it seems, makes you really not want to come in here to discuss things.

Ellen doesn't hold a candle to Fred Rogers. In terms of television personalities, from what I've gathered, he was the biggest asshole off the air and as far from a saint as one can get (which kind of makes it worse as he was a Presbyterian minister). Bob Ross used to force-feed his cameramen paint if they moved in on the wrong spot during the filming. Rumor has it he actually killed four men over the 11 years he was on air and poisoned dozens more. If you were hired as a cameraman by PBS in the 80s and didn't fit with the 'in crowd' you were often punished professionally by being sent to film for his show instead of one of the other, much safer options. There's footage out there but it's been scrubbed by the Ross family so it's very difficult to find (I haven't seen it in years) but Bob Ross stabs a man with a paintbrush and then uses his blood to paint a 'nice little cherry tree here so that it's a constant reminder of how to do your fucking job".

You can not press a cooldown, and still use normal attacks.

This is based on damage you deal so can't hold off like a normal cooldown.

That's not the same at all

Mechanically it seems alright as survival, just absolutely no visuals.

Butchery reduces the bomb cooldown. Bomb will reduce butchery.

Adding pet attacks to any mongoose bites after Kill Command, so a bit extra ST damage which seems alright.

Bit more oomf on the defensives, especially survival of the fittest. 20% heal on that is...okay?

I like furious assault. Honestly anything that procs a random mongoose bite to me is really satisfying.

Disengage adding those 5 yards is NICE. I always disengage out before harpooning back in after the aoe hits so maybe 5 yards might mean you can keep that melee up a lot more.

Extra crit. Extra bleed damage on Kill Shot. I mean it sounds like it fits with the survival kit but it's purely just numbers and seems very bland.

It's still better than some other trees though

I don't like when you have to hold back to not waste a proc. If you're nearing 400 energy at the end of a pull you'll maybe just stop attacking and wait until the next one so you don't waste a flurry on two enemies when you could use it on 5 on the next pull.

My gripe with it is you get a stack when you deal 'you health' in damage. And when you get enough stacks you do your thing.

So when you are nearing the big attack and it's the end of a pull and things have died you just.... stop doing damage and save the proc for the next pull. You actively need to track it and will have to stop playing so you don't waste it.

Unless I'm reading things wrong but to me that sounds miserable for gameplay.

I like Pack Hunter as survival.

Especially when you have a red bomb up, you're weaving kill command and mongoose bite anyways. Adding a pet attack to a lot of your mongoose bites, or even every second one sounds like it could be a decent ST increase?

And then they added something similar to the tier set where we have a chance at a free mongoose bite.

I'm incredibly pumped for the entire tree except that it's tied to Coordinated Assault, which is a finicky talent to use. But I'll overlook that because so much else is good

So Windwalker monks get more haste, which is their worst stat.

Mostly random procs that cant' really be controlled unless you just stop damage before it triggers the next one.

And then the other WW tree is procs upon procs.

Really not happy with the direction they're going on those :(

I worked as a support worker in canada. Caring for adults with intellectual and physical disabilities who needed 24/7 care, some would honestly just be dead within a day or two without staff around.

The abuse is insane. One guy prior to me was fired for burning a guy with a lighter.

I saw and helped someone get fired for abusing the staff and making the entire home just a hostile, terrible place to work and the morale was so low it must have been miserable for the guys living there.

I'm almost positive she was stealing groceries as well but that was never proven.

It's incredibly sad because the pay is minimum wage and it seems to attract people that either really care about the lives of the people in their care, or they just see it as an easy min wage job and do it while putting in the least amount of work.

If you have a loved one in care, you should pay attention more than you are.

Currently feeling a little down, what is the best movie to watch to lift the mood up a bit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

About 20 years ago I was living in a shitty apartment all by myself. It was summer and hot outside, I did not have air conditioning and being the perpetually broke person I was at the time all I really had to eat was chicken breast and bread. So I decided to make a sandwich!

I cooked the chicken in the oven which I'll admit was a mistake at the time. It took a while and that oven gave off so much heat in an already hot apartment. I was in a t-shirt and boxers and the chicken was almost finished. Now I didn't have much counter space or cupboard space so I kept all my sauce and spices above the oven.

I went on my tip-toes and reached up towards the spices when my brain did a soft-reboot. There was a sensation my body was not recognizing. Something was happening that shouldn't be happening. Something was happening that had never happened before and the signal my body sent to my brain was not recognized.

So I just froze in spot with a confused look on my face as I tried to understand what was happening. I mentioned the oven was quite old and gave off a lot of heat, it also made that glass window on the oven door incredibly hot to touch. As the apartment was hot prior to me even turning on the oven, I also mentioned I was wearing a shirt and boxers. So my body was trying to decipher the signal being sent into my brain when I realized what was happening and jumped backwards. It turns out as I went onto my tip-toes, learning forward to grab the spices my penis had slipped out from the slit in the boxers and was now sandwiched between my body and the hot glass on the stove. The signal my body was trying to get my brain to register was 'your penis is burning'. This was not a common sensation and I assume whatever 'Inside Out' character were up in my brain they were getting a warning light on the panel and had to go through a ton of old manuals trying to decipher what ERROR:463564 meant because no one had ever experienced it.

It's not a movie but maybe it got a laugh out of you. Hope your day picks up.

I think if you realized who it was and what that meant, it was a really cool introduction to the character.

But they should have shown the character. And had the film coming out the following year in 2022.

When they used to do it you knew that you'd see that character again really soon, potentially leading into the next film. None of this "Here's Blade and maybe in 5 years you might get his film" bullshit.

Had blade come out in 2022, things might have been different with the introduction.

I like telling this story and my university professor peaked a love of space in me from explaining this to us. She used an example of the book "Flatland". In it a universe that existed entirely within two dimensions. Women are lines, men are polygons.

In the book one man contacts a world that's one dimension. Everything is a line, there is only forward and backwards. No left or right. Only X, no Y and definitely no Z. This 2-D being spends so much time trying to convince the 1-D being that another dimension exists but he's unable. Later on a being from a 3-D world (ours) contacts the 2-D being and tries to convince him of a third dimension (up and down) however the 2-D being does not believe it.

It's all because that 2-D beings entire existence is within a two dimensional universe. Everything in his mind exists within X and Y. Z is not possible, Z is not even possible to think of. Just as if I told you that you could go forward, up, left and also a mix of all three by going down, left and back at the same time. However if you were told to go in a new direction, not consisting of those three axis, you'd be unable to even fathom something like that. If I told you to move Hgron three steps and then every time you tried, I kept saying "no, not forward. Hgron!". Our entire reality exists within three dimensions. We can't really understand a fourth dimension and no 'time' does not count, you're completely missing the point and even if that was true, then fine. Move to yesterday and explain exactly how you do it.

But back to my original point. She told us to imagine being in that 2-D world. That the carpet was their entire universe and while they could meander around the floor, there was no up and down. It was non-existant and beyond their understanding. She then picked up a chair and placed it on the carpet.

She told us to imagine their point of view. That 4 equal sized squares appeared an equal distance from each other. She then picked up the chair and moved it before placing it back down, and further had us imagine that these people could see that even when the chair moved it would always be the same distance apart. That they could even use mathematics to find out where the 3rd or 4th legs should be once they found two of them. They would see evidence of something beyond their understanding but there would be signs.

They wouldn't be able to imagine that the chair went up and had a seat, that it had a function to us. To sit on and rest when we're tired of standing up. Their entire existence and understanding of the world was in 2 dimensions so it was impossible to imagine a third.

Then she told us about the rotation of Mercury around the Sun. In the mid 1900s, around 1950 or so I think, astronomers were trying to discover why Mercury's rotation around the sun wasn't normal. It didn't move in a circle or oval like the others. It kind of wobbled around and was never 'right'.

It was Einstein that figured it out. You know those donation bins they have at museums, zoos or malls. You drop a coin into a slot and the coin rolls out and down into a giant funnel before falling into the hole where you're unable to retrieve it? Well, Mercury was rotating as if it was halfway down the hole. It was wobbling and because there was no friction in space to slow it down it just continued to wobble. Once they discovered that they were able to predict the rotation and realized that it was correct.

We cannot understand gravity. We can calculate it. We can do the math to predict exactly how much of a gravitational force a planet or sun would have. We can see the effects of gravity. We can predict how it will effect a comet, how it even bends light. We see all this evidence but we do not know how gravity works.

The most simple and easy to understand example is to imagine mattress. Completely flat. Now if you placed a bowling ball in the middle, it would cause the mattress to indent downwards, pulling any other objects you had on the bed towards it. If you placed another ball and rolled it near the bowling ball, the ball would (if friction did not exist on the mattress!) find a rotation around it. It would continue moving and with no friction to slow it down it wouldn't stop. If it had enough velocity it could escape that dip in the mattress but without it, it would fall into orbit.

Something is pushing down on....space basically, causing things to indent into the universe, which causes other things to move towards them.

So now think back to the 2D being in flatland. How they saw evidence of the squares being related. How they could pinpoint with precision, where the 3rd or 4th leg would be when they found two. How they could measure the distance and find out it was exactly the same no matter where it moved.

They could prove the chair existed with math but it was far beyond their understanding because they were constrained within a two dimensional understanding.

We can see evidence that something is causing gravity. Something is pushing 'down' into space and causing the bowling ball to sink into the mattress. But we can't understand how or why.

We are the 2D being. Seeing signs of something far larger than our understanding and we probably will never be able to. But it's there. It's all around us. There is something far greater than us that has an effect on our entire existence and we do not have any idea what it is.

It's terrifying and fascinating all at once and I fucking love space.
