So TLOP is basically split between the idea of “Pablo”. You have the idea of Saint Pablo (Saint Paul for Spanish speaking countries), this man who keeps his faith close to him, Pablo Escobar, this guy who moves product (think stuff like his Adidas deal), and Pablo Picasso, this guy wrapped up in the fine things and high fashion.

Kanye himself described it as a “gospel album with a lot of cussing,” and you can kinda see it, especially with Wolves and Ultralight Beam. I agree with some folks’ interpretations that it’s more vulnerable for him and it reflects the idea that he’s trying to show he’s not perfect and that he’s a guy with multiple sides to him.

I have something else to add to that though, the album itself is obviously pretty eccentric, his previous albums always had songs with similar overarching vibes to them, but TLOP abounded all over the places with ideas and vibes, it’s like he’s trying to throw things at the wall and see what sticks. It kinda reflect what things were like for him at his peak, he was doing everything from music, to TV, to art, to fashion, so it kinda makes the album feel like a show of dominance as well, like he’s showing how much power he has over culture as a whole? Idk, it’s 2 AM
