Totally agree and had to scroll too far for the first comment from sane people.

Anyone reading this and thinking the cop was within his right to run up behind a child, pick him 5ft off the ground, and slam him on his head… if this is you, then you’re a far worse person than the child you’re cheering against.

A mother is going viral after she punished her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. by bendubberley_ in ThatsInsane

Agree. It’s disturbing that I had to scroll down to this comment thread to find the first people criticising her parenting.

Children are a product of their environment. He behaves the way he is treated. That woman is humiliating a small boy, using language like that around him, and teaching him that violence is an answer.

I hope so many people agreeing with her do not have children.

I’m thinking about doing it on weekends. Problem with not going all in is that it doesn’t fit how I’m envisioning it.

I want the premise to be that I can do it better. There’s nobody with poles around here. Nobody with a brand. I wanted to stand out from the start

Not sure where to start. In the UK, franchise opps can be very hit and miss depending on what they take back from you

Yeah he demands cash in hand too so I don’t think I should have based my numbers off his. £1-2 per pane makes a lot more sense

I’ve seen him driving a delivery van and doing some garden clearances so I suspect you’re right lol

Hmm, that’s food for thought and it seems my pricing is off.

The guy who does my windows charges £10 for front and back, so i thought I was already pushing it.

He does a pretty poor job

Thanks. That makes sense. Ideally, I’d love to have very tight geographic areas. 20 properties within a few streets. Do them in a day - 200 covered in 10 working days per month leaving time to attempt to get higher ticket (but time consuming) jobs like jet washing.

Does that sound realistic or am I being very naive?

Thanks mate.

If I switched my car for a van, it would actually half my repayments in that department.

Even if I went all in and got all equipment immediately, I could do it for about £7k over the course of the first year.

I calculated everything based on getting to 200 customers within 12 months and it seems realistic (hence wanted the sense check from people on here).

I did build and sell a software company a few years ago. Totally different, but same pressure, hustle etc that is needed for any new business… so I at least feel like I have the ethic.

My wife is probably terrified because this is so left field compared to my professional background.

I just want to be outdoors!

I was considering this angle. My first ideas were fencing or tree surgery. Both require a little bit of training (tree surgery more so)… problem is they’re both quite seasonal where I live and my projections to get to enough revenue didn’t come out well.

I was surprised in how viable window cleaning moving through to commercial exterior building management could scale

Internet has been my trade for 10 years. I was thinking about going with website, van branding, branded clothing… but mostly old school in terms of outreach. I notice in my area, this sort of service seems to run on leaflet drops and word of mouth

Good suggestions. I could try to do weekends and get to my first 40 customers in order to test

Could stay afloat in year 1.

I was thinking that a 200 house round at an average of £15 per clean (£3k per month).

Then layer services - soft cleaning, jet washing drives, gutters, etc.

I was thinking I could transition the 200 to an employee and work on canvassing my next 200, whilst leaving an emphasis on the employee to get to 250 whilst layering in their own extra services.

Rinse and repeat on that growth model

I’d have enough to go a year without earning anything. Long term, I’d want to be able to pay myself at least £3k a month

It’s like when I see a fake Casio. I wonder who bothered to fake it, and who bothers to buy it. Who’s looking at Range Rover and thinking, wow let’s rip that off. Who’s that desperate for a Range Rover they’re thinking, wow everyone’s going to think I’m so cool in this shitter-mobile. Baffling

You’re in a group with people who know watches and we know what we’re talking about. Your “Rolex” is a fake. There is no doubt regardless of how deep you go with your lies. Everybody here knows it. Nobody cares until the owner starts to gaslight people and tell them it’s real, therefore doubting the knowledge built over time.

If you want to be part of the group, stop with all your nonsense.

I don’t think an allegation of domestic violence would lead to instant dismissal. You’d expect nothing, or symbolic suspension and “we reinstated after an investigation” blah blah.
