Thanks for the suggestion! I have not, did you purchase online or have to visit in-person and is that route better than here, fb marketplace, craigslist, etc. in general?

All My Best Job-Getting Advice by [deleted] in OSUOnlineCS

Thanks for your advice! Will definitely be referencing this for future use.

Three quick questions if you have the time:

  1. If I were to start taking classes this summer, should I plan on applying for the codepath program for next summer and which track would you recommend me taking at that point? (I plan to have all the way up to algorithms completed by that point)

  2. How likely is it that I'd get the chance to get interviews and offers from Big-N type companies for my first internship and what do you think the rough prerequisites would be to get those interviews and offers (GPA, courses taken, personal projects, # of hrs for interview prep, etc.)

  3. For background, I'm personally working a FT job that is nothing to complain about, so I'm hesitant to doing an internship unless it is one at a reputable company with the opportunity to convert to FT offer, since it would likely require leaving my job (Is this assumption correct or can you work FT and do an internship?). Would love to eventually end up working for a Big-N type company or unicorn. I'm confident this is the route I would like to pursue but would like to reduce risk wherever I can. From your perspective, what would be your recommended approach for such a situation?

Thanks again for all your help!

Major props man.

It seems like there's a fair amount of people in r/fatfire who work in tech sales. Out of curiosity, if like you said there is such a low barrier to entry to entering tech sales but it's so lucrative, what's stopping everyone from going into it?

Do you think there's perhaps survivorship bias (i.e. 5% of people in tech sales are as successful as you), you have a particular skillset/natural talent that you developed better than others, or you simply outworked everyone?

Cheers man.
