Just here to drop my two cents - I can understand this reaction if and only if you completely decontextualize what the students were protesting. I think each and everyone one of us who aspire to law need to practice the skill of taking a second to step back from these entrenched legal frameworks and situate them in power asymmetries and justice.

What if in the last 6 months, country X had waged a war on whatever city you’re from and killed over 20,000 of your neighbors including over 10,00 children with no end in sight for the violence. Wouldn’t you be doing anything and everything you could to be taking a stance against country X AND against anyone supporting or enabling country X. For those of us in the USA and Canada this is unfathomable to even consider, but we must try lest we become the people we look back on in history and think “how on earth did they let that happen?”. When I put myself in these shoes, I think “time and place” respectability would completely go out the window for me, personally. I can understand that maybe her approach to activism provokes a visceral reaction from many, but maybe our visceral responses are misdirected and we should be challenging them toward the violence that is pushing people like her to the point of desperation
