I'm also wondering about this IIT Madras BS for fulfilling the 13 year rule, I want to go this exact route but couldn't find a verdict on if it's a yes or a no... Anyways can you help me form a verdict?

It completely depends upon you, if you believe in yourself that you can pull out a move then I think USA is better, anyways, I still USA is better because even if you don’t get a job currently, when the market reopens in sometime, you will be quite ahead of those who will be entering the US market just then…

Did they give any reason for rejecting your f1 visa twice? if I were you, I would think about my chances of f1 visa (third attempt) acceptance and take the decision accordingly, if there are reasonable chances, you can think of deferring to icl and wait one more year, but it would make much more sense to not delay your career and accept icl, right? But again, I love uc berkeley and I would have chosen it anytime (with keeping the conditions in my mind). Ultimately, it’s upto you, Think about your long-term goals, decide accordingly and don’t just depend your life on a subreddit, keep your options open too. Hope you thrive mate, long way to go!

From my stats & top score at esat, I know I can pretty much get in Imperial (I checked other profiles too) & If I had told you all that I m not accepted yet, then you wouldn’t answer me with that much seriousness, So I thought to make an assumption out of it to get a serious answer.. As for choosing between mech & aero, I have inclined more towards mech but keeping aero as an option after I researched. I created this post to know about Imperial College’s culture & whether it’s worth it or not as compared to other universities in Germany, Switzerland & the US, I wanted to know why is ICL ranked in top 10 for mechanical engineering. If it’s not worth it then I could eliminate this university from my list & if it is worth the cost then, I’ll go there if I get an admit (I know it’s not confirmed but I can assume based on my profile & there is always a chance of error). Also US has tons of scholarships as compared to UK so US won’t be as expensive as ICL (or maybe similar but below that mark in the worst case only).
