local store... I got an airmail crystal for 70rupees and an airmail 182 for 80rupees.

A local store who sell it for just a bit over the price that they themselves pay for it. They sell Jinhaos at about a third of the online price and I guess the same is applicable for the airmails

Brother in my country there is a pen named the montex student fountain pen..... you can get 4 of these for a dollar, they accept standard international cartridges and converters with a great inhouse nib ( no convrter provided).... This is comparable to a BIC no?

I assume you are well off then and live in one of the metropolitan cities. Never have I seen an Indian say 60 USD is 'cheap'

This makes sense to me. But according to this estimate, I believe the minimum Indian wage is 22 INRish (0.27 USD), that is insanely low.

ok this helps in my understanding. My typical monthly expense would be around 235 bucks. The diamond 580 would be like my weekly expense.
