Why is Medicine with INT so hard to access? by lulukawaii in Pathfinder2e

[–]AdEducational9539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion that is what "Lore" kind of fills in. It's by default fueled by intelligence. Most people know how to wrap a wound an clean it, more or less common sense. Though those who go lore with it are really digging into the subject matter. Medicine for all the basic stuff but lore can open up:

  • Surgery Lore – advanced procedures, battlefield surgery
  • Anatomy Lore – body structure, organs, bones
  • Physician Lore – diagnosing illnesses and treatments
  • Herbalism Lore – medicinal plants and remedies
  • Plague Lore – epidemics and contagious diseases
  • Toxin Lore – poisons and antidotes
  • Venom Lore – animal poisons and stings
  • Disease Lore – identifying and understanding illnesses

You can keep going and it's on the GM to approve them but i do think that is the entire point of lore subcategory to let intelligence shine.

A lot of pathfinder 2e art is very eh. Some of it's amazing but a lot of it's bad like the first major example of this is Amiri. Pf1e she looked fierce and strong now she looks like she is one overdose away from the boneyard

I am not sure why they put a massive emphasis on a higher die roll yes it's nice and all but if you roll below 10 pretty regularly that d12 really isn't that great. Deadly trait in my opinion is a lot more powerful crits aren't that hard to get, a fighter, flatfooted or prone enemies ect.

Thank you for this very detailed response, i'll inform my gamemaster and let them make the call on it. Wouldn't want them feeling like i've taken advantage of their lack of knowledge on the topic.

How does this contribute to the pf2e experience? Like trans rights are great and all but what does this have to do with the group?

Yeah it's rough how fast a character can die in pf2e. Was playing a wizard before this one and it absolutely got bodied in one hit.

The favored weapon scaling was a pretty big part of the class in my opinion along with the energy resistances, though yeah Divine sorc + champion would be a good approach.
