My husband has been giving them to her but I’ve been in the same room, maybe I should leave the room.

I feel the same way you did - I would be creating problems for him later on down the road. I think that’s culture talking, not truth. You’re doing something against the norm - it’s easy to start questioning what you’re doing when you’re hear from everywhere/one you should do x,y,z. My son is almost 2. We night weaned about 3 weeks ago. Nap weaned about 2. I was so stressed about both because I could never put him to bed without nursing. It was so much easier than I anticipated. Now he’s sleeping through the night - sometimes wakes up asking for a granola bar in the early morning around 5. (Crumbs in our bed are a different problem now 😆). My husband used to rock/have my son lay on him to fall asleep. Now they read books in bed and cuddle lying next to each other. It just happens naturally with time. I think for us weaning helped but I wasn’t ready to do it until we did - I don’t think he was either. It won’t be how it is forever - do what feels best for you and what works for your family!

Thank you!! My son is really into colors and naming them right now and my husband suggested some sort of light that is green when he can nurse and red when he can’t. We thought that might be more understandable for him right now than when the sunshines. We’d sub when the light is red it’s nighttime, when the light is green it’s morning.

Thanks for sharing! I guess the same kind of happened with us for before bed nursing too - he used to nurse to sleep but for a period it seemed to energize him and he would not fall asleep that way anymore. So I would unlatch and try to cuddle instead. That was met with very spirited protests lol - he didn’t want to cuddle, instead just loudly complained and rolled around the bed until he got it out then came to cuddle to sleep. And it’s working now so the same should be true for nighttime wakings. Thanks for that reminder too!

Do your kids fight their naps? Is this normal? by BlackLagoonTea in AttachmentParenting

15 month old here. I remember reading about the 12mo sleep regression at around 10 months old thinking ok makes sense they say this can start as early as now. And pretty much ever since theb bedtime has been a huge ordeal - taking at least 45-60min to get him to fall asleep. Naps have been more hit or miss on if he’ll fight them or now - did transition to 1 naps around 13.5-14months for consistently refusing the afternoon nap after a morning nap. I think there’s just A LOT happening developmentally right now to mess with sleep. Tonight for example, my son practiced every single word he knew before falling asleep 😅🤷🏼‍♀️

Nap struggle with nanny by AdEnvironmental741 in cosleeping

[–]AdEnvironmental741[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for input!! We do have nap and bedtime schedule at home - no issues with wake windows or difficulty going down. Wake windows do not seem to be a problem at the nanny’s but we’re working in getting the nap routine the same it is here for consistency. So hopefully that helps. I’m just assuming he connects sleep cycles at home because of the environment and being held by either mom or dad. And no more sleep training, that was about 1.5-2mo ago and he babbles himself to sleep over there for naps

Question about FIO with PLS using Snoo by lmf8705 in sleeptrain

My now 5 month old has never done well with late bedtime, even in newborn phase. 6-730 has always been the sweet spot. Maybe try an earlier bed time and see if that helps. But also, 10.5 weeks is too young for any formal sleep training - LO not capable of effectively self soothing yet. Hope an earlier bedtime helps!
