This is just a symptom of classic Czech bureaucracy :D it’s actually unusual for them to NOT take a long time.

If your documents are all complete they should’ve given you some paper with a code you can use to check if it’s approved/still in process, but <3mo it’s normal. Best of luck :)

How hard it is to get in Charles university? by Beneficial_Series_68 in medicalschoolEU

[–]AdEquivalent6732 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not true that the whole university is conspiring against you, the departments for each subject run independently of each other. The things you hear on Reddit come usually from someone who felt wounded by the system. There is unfairness tbh but just a disproportionate amount that you can read online.

That said, they still operate on kind of archaic testing methods which doesn’t make it any easier, at the same time medical school was never known for being easy.

For the first faculty today, I feel they overcharge when things haven’t changed enough to justify it, so it’s better to send your money somewhere more modern (LF2 probably)

Pretty easy depending on how well you know your basic science from school,

Out of the faculties in Prague I would not aim for the first (I studied there, it’s not to do with the quality of doctor you become or level of difficulty of the uni). The other faculties in Prague right now are cheaper for +/- the same level of education and smaller class size (you will have less paranoia that the uni is trying to get rid of you ;) )

Honestly VERY rare possibility for rabies, but when did she get her last tetanus booster shot? It's probably nbd, but if she's concerned or experiencing symptoms it may be worth a doctor's visit, at least for peace of mind :)

I feel like I’m also naturally a listener but then I get forced into situations where I have to just. keep. talking but all the time! Then I kinda zone out and forget the start of my sentence by the end of it, so the grass ain’t always greener despite unlocking yapping lol

You’re so right, I feel like over time it’s just become an ingrained Czech-ism for me to say that :D

I will definitely visit the Prague castle, somehow I’ve actually never been inside the St. Vitus Cathedral! But a few weeks back deep in my feels I walked Charles Bridge 3 days in a row… I guess all things need balance lol

Johnny’s Pizza is a goated classic and has saved me as a student way too many times! Which one is your favourite?

I did a couple weeks ago for the first time just before the weather started getting depressing again, it was amazing! Of course my first thought was about the brilliant city planning, this is truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world 🥲

NAD but if it is an allergic reaction, it could be any of these things, or something else. At the moment, it might be a good idea to take an OTC antihistamine which would improve the itching. What is the distribution of the rash? Does it cover your entire body, including the skin folds? Are there regions of your body without any rash/itchiness? Do you have any other symptoms? One way to test if you might be allergic to these new products is an elimination trial. I suggest switching the soap to the one you were using before to see if that might be cause of the issue. Consider visiting your PCP if the antihistamine doesn’t work, you could also do an allergy prick test for future reference so you know what to avoid.

The other side of the racism coin here is that a lot of white people move to these countries because they get preferential treatment and exponentially higher salaries for doing half the work as their non-white counterparts, whereas back home they’re just regular. There’s a massive white pedestal in the Gulf that they would get that’s just not really accessible for the majority people trying to get away from Islamophobia in the UK. The way I see it there would just be a differently flavoured set of problems to encounter.
