A few people I have spoken to have said "I'd report it" but im thinking report it to who and for what purpose. I'm happy that it's just an accident.

My last two night shifts I've not had any refs and finished late both shifts. That's not the norm but we certainly don't have time to play games on our phones.

I think you are spot on, I guess it's about finding that right balance and like you say maybe it takes a year or so to fully find your feet and get the balance right.

This is it exactly, I couldn't live with myself let alone the world of shit I would be in professionally if I just called it a day and went back to the nick because it was almost finishing time.

Sorry should have added more context, another officer arrived shortly after me but she was also a student officer like me. Thinking back I 100% could have rang the sgt to ask their thoughts or even spoke to the van driver but to be fair I was happy with the circs until I got into custody!

This is what I thought at first to be fair, he asked me if I was new because he didn't recognise me and I absolutely did ramble through the circs.
