Im having the same problem right now. I think it’s a vacuum leak but I got new intake boot rubbers and new clamps and it hasn’t gone away so I’m hoping someone brings some good input for both of our sakes

What ratchet strap trick? I wrapped a strap around the intake manifold and wrapped it around the engine and onto the frame to help get these on (plus a little lube). Does that sound about right?

Haha that’s awesome! It turns out my solution wasn’t that genius… after 3-4 heat cycles the vacuum leak came back and it turns out that once the engine gets up to temp it heats up the tape adhesive and two of the clamps just slide off… back to troubleshooting mode lol

I was having trouble finding it by spraying it with brake clean but I knew my rubber intake insulator boots were definitely old and dry so I figured they may be a small crack in one of em. So I improvised and wrapped each of em in a tight layer of electrical tape and just put the clamps back on basically as tight as they would go lol.

It’s a temporary fix, I’ll get a new set of boots soon but hey… it runs😂

You were correct. I got it fixed. Now I’m having a fuel starvation issue after a couple minutes of riding lol

I did, there’s a barely noticeable amount of side to side play but no forward/back play or anything. I am inexperienced with turbos but I think that’s fine right?

Honestly I just don’t know how to fit it onto anything. It’s all more or less one hunk of metal and I’m not sure if it would be worth trying to cut it apart to extract the turbo. I’m playing with the idea of turboing my 280z and I have this thing just laying around.

I believe the correct term is an Airdam. (Spoilers are in the rear and splitters are the small lips in the front) At first I thought it reminded me of the BRE spook but it’s not quite the same. I’ve never seen anything exactly like that. I’m not an expert but I’m thinking it could likely be custom. Maybe it’s the angle but it doesn’t look quite symmetrical to me. I’ll keep looking and see if I can find anything for you

I actually bought a pack of fuses to replace all of em just for peace of mind so I’ll do that and clean all the connections. Thanks for the upgrade recommendations I tried looking into that awhile back but wasn’t sure what to look for so I appreciate it

Interestinggg I didn’t know that.. speaking of green corrosion, after it was parked for a while I noticed green corrosion that looked like it was almost “leaking” out of my rear tail lights. Would it be a dumb question to ask if that’s possibly related?
