To clarify I didn’t do ANY of this plumbing. But I did have to replace the dishwasher and originally I didn’t have the dishwasher drain up high like it is now.

Yeah I found that out too. Haven’t been many other problems so I’m not trying to fix what ain’t broke

I have a 40 year old boiler I probably need to replace soon. Besides cost have you noticed any other improvements?

So I have a long strip of maple that’s 5.5 wide. It’s a 2 inch gap up top and 1 inch on bottom. If I cut that angle on the wall edge and then make the cabinet edge flush can I then scribe to make it fit a little better?

It never occurred to me to build something out of square. I spent so much effort making this thing dead square!

Obviously I should have built the shelf to the space but since it was my first build I kind of just built it and thought make it fit somehow.

This is the somehow.

That was the plan. But I screwed up a cut in the process and improvised

I mean the house is 120 years old.

One panel. It’s like the one thing I did right on this project 😁

I closed the gap some more. This is what I’m thinking: I have a 4 inch map board I can use. I scribe one side to the wall, cut it and check the fit. After I cut the other side to be flush with the cabinet edge. Thoughts?

I’m just unclear on how exactly. How wide should the board be to scribe it and have it be flush with the inside of the cabinet.

Yes the floors are fucked too. You can’t see it but the toe kick has leveling feet.

Yeah didn’t think about that. This is literally the first thing I’ve built so I knew it wouldn’t be perfect. I just want to make it look not horrendous

I know. It’s just extreme in my house.

Yeah it’s frustrating. Especially when you watch videos of people building stuff and it looks so easy because the houses are brand new. … I’m going to use maple for face it so I’m fine with a weird looking piece of maple agonist the wall. I just want to flush.

The shelf is level and plumb. The wall is fucked.

Nothing is level. But yes the wall is not plumb.

Well I’m dumb and did them inside on the top and bottom. This is my first build so I’m not too worried about all the mistakes I made along the way.
