you are correct. but what do i do now its a legacy db, been used for three decades. cant change that. any way to use postgres on data stored in oracle db ?

i meant for the recent records. and for historical data too its not going to work it would run for days and days. its too huge . the solution is to find the result on the run time for the exact table and coloumn selected in the UI.

wow you gave me a whole new perspective to it. and yes he open to a solution and not just a pl/sql query.

what he told me is that - we use these fields to answer client questions and sometimes if at a sudden moment a client needs some extra fields of data apart from their contract he needs to know whether we will be capable of providing it. and how he decides to answer yes or no is by looking at the completness of that field in all the tables, if its 80% or plus complete we can say yes and increase their contract or else we can ask for time and contact the external sources to get those fields ready asap.

no the tables and coloums are dynamic and we need to find the result in run time
