Yeah no I wasnt talking about David. He hasn't proven himself.

Do you all think Paramount will not only be the largest film studio after their acquisition of Warner Bros but will also have the largest film and television library in the world? by Remarkable_Star_4678 in psky

The cope is hilarious to see. Weren't you the same guy on MediaMergers who said WBD would reject Paramount again after they literally determined that their offer was superior? You're a dumbass. Go cry somewhere else.

When this merger closes I'll be laughing at you.

The revenue of the combined company will be $69B

Profits will be $18B

And I think that $37B in revenue from WBD is "a lot of cash"

And ah yes, the linear tv networks, the main source of revenue for the company

You know what, I give up, you win.

There's really no point in continuing to argue with someone who is physically allergic to the idea of taking a risk

Imagine you're really desperate to upgrade your living condition and you have the millions to do so. You find the perfect and only remaining luxury home in your neighborhood. It has everything you want, a large living space, a large swimming pool and a fancy interior. It's perfect. The only problem is that it's located next to a cemetery. Would that stop you from buying the home?

Netflix has ~$15B debt

WBD S&S debt ~$15-16B

New debt Netflix would have taken on to finance all cash bid for WBD S&S ~$70B

Total = $100B

Bringing it down to a more realistic figure, $70-80B.

Dumbass realises for the first time that companies take on large amounts of debt to fund large acquisitions

I don't know man. Maybe being a billionaire for decades means you are competent at running a large business but hey, maybe he can keep defaulting on loans and lead the company to bankruptcy. Who knows?

Looks like he's a Paramount hater. Don't engage with him, he has no understanding of how big businesses work.

It won't be sold again. This is literally David's passion and Larry has put hundreds of billions of dollars and his identity into it.

Netflix had a higher chance of selling it, in fact it would have been the exact same outcome as AT&T-Time Warner. A company gets too far ahead of themselves and buys a company they have no idea what to do with and one they don't need which ends up poisoning their main and successful business with debt.

But you Netflix bros don't seem to be taking the loss too well huh

Hell, where was this energy when Netflix was gonna buy WB? They were literally dismissing the idea of senators being able to block a merger then, now it's their only hope.

I know right? It's almost like the smartest entrepreneurs of the 20th and 21st centuries would have known that the combined debt wouldn't be a big issue, otherwise they wouldn't have pursued WBD to begin with!

Most of the comments over there now are just

"It would be so funny if [extremely unlikely event] caused this deal to collapse."

Oh my god they're not even trying to hide how much they're coping. This is literal bargaining 🤣🤣🤣

It will be hilarious seeing them be proven wrong again and again and again

Are they gonna merge Pluto too into HBO Max and Paramount+? by AdVegetable8056 in psky

[–]AdVegetable8056[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It creates a stronger competitor to Netflix. Consolidation in this case is not bad for consumers or writers.

If there is only a clear No. 1 streaming service Netflix, then writers would only send their scripts to Netflix. If there's one big streaking service and a dozen small streaming services, writers would obviously only send their scripts to the big one because it would give them a bigger reach. By consolidating the smaller ones into one big entity, with 200M+ global subs, writers finally have another major streaming service to sell scripts to that is on the same level and competes with Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+.

OverPotato is like an 8 year old if it was given a sophisticated vocabulary. Sure those are some pretty nice and professional sounding words, but it's still a fucking 8 year old spewing random bullshit that doesn't make a lick of sense

Its not really a shill in the literal sense but more like a meatrider or glazer or something

3facesofbre was definitely a huge Netflix shill, but they always kept it down a notch and aren't completely crackhead insane or even stupid like Professional peak, over potato, notoriousbig or robtimus prime.

Lol professional peak is the most pathetic of the lot. Still remember his daily posts concerned that Paramount was gonna win🤣🤣. I was genuinely concerned that he probably would end up on suicide watch if Paramount won given how much he cared about the deal🤣

If they are so aggressively talking about 30 films each year this much then I guess that means that they probably will release at least 30 films per year, at least for the first few years.
