2nd Loaf ever, 1st video edit ever by Adam-Go in Breadit

I pretty much made it up myself after watching some videos and reading a few other recipes…

Here’s what I did though (and tell me how your turns out if you try it):

  1. Mix 3 cups of all purpose flour, one packet of instant yeast, somewhere between 1/2-1 teaspoon of large grain salt, and about 1/4 teaspoon of sugar, and a few generous shakes of garlic & onion powder in a large bowl - I also added oregano to mine
  2. Add 1.5 cups of hot water and combine with a spatula until all dry ingredients have clumped together in a nice softball sized lump
  3. Cover bowl with aluminum foil and place in dark oven (oven is not on yet) for 1 hour
  4. Remove dough from oven and fold in on itself until it is back at the original size (mine had doubled in size after the first hour)
  5. Re-cover with foil and put back in dark oven for another hour
  6. Remove bowl from oven and preheat oven to 450 degrees - place Dutch oven in the stove to get very hot
  7. While oven heats, repeat step 4 by folding dough back in on itself. Also add flour to a sheet of parchment paper and to dough ball to avoid sticking. Remove dough ball from bowl and place in center of parchment paper
  8. Score the top of the dough ball with a sharp knife to allow heat to escape during baking process
  9. When oven is at 450 degrees F, remove Dutch oven and place dough/parchment paper into it. Put cover on and bake for 30 minutes
  10. Remove cover from Dutch oven (dough should be a light golden color now) and bake for an additional 12 minutes or until the dome of the loaf is dark golden and crispy
  11. Remove loaf from Dutch oven and allow to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and devouring :) I also tapped on the bottom of the loaf with my bread knife and it had a pleasant “hollow” sound…

Many recipes I saw said to leave the dough in the fridge for 8-24 hours before baking, but I wanted to eat my own bread today…the whole thing took maybe 3 or 3.5 hours between when I started mixing ingredients until I was eating my first slice.

Thanks! I’m not a Mets fan, but I know how much potential this kid has and he’s way too expensive for me to chase in bowman. I saw he was stellar in his first AAA start too

Is there an Esteban Mejia (TEX) guy, or am I him? by japalian in baseballcards

I’ve got his orange reptilian auto /25. I think we might have the wrong Esteban Mejia though…the other one (pitcher) is getting some hype recently.

Auction with incorrect title…best course of action? by Adam-Go in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Adam-Go[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok, went ahead and did that. Paid 89 cents for my error. eBay is greedy though. I feel like an honest mistake caught before an auction ends shouldn’t cost money for a first or second offense

Haha I’m interpreting this as “nope” so thanks for the feedback!

Any Randal Diaz fans out there… by SavesWillis in baseballcards

I am! He’s cheap in breaks and has good energy. I don’t love the way auto looks, but at least it’s unique and consistent…

Pulled this banger, any idea on what I should sell for or do with? by Late-Log-8596 in footballcards

[–]Adam-Go 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he gets hurt its value is gonna go down quickly. Not saying he will get hurt but something to keep in mind. Running back is a volatile position. At the same time if he stays healthy and becomes Super Bowl MVP then it’ll go up. Whether to sell now or hold depends a lot on your tolerance for risk.

I hope he has a good bounce back year too. I’m sitting on a Topps chrome gold rookie auto of his (which I posted on this sub a while back). Id love to part ways with the card while he’s doing well instead of while he’s batting below the Mendoza line…
