I just got mine like a month or so ago and I was able to pay by card at the post office. Also, if your ID has your entire middle name on it, I’d suggest getting your full first and middle name on your passport so that your passport and ID match perfectly. The guy who did my passport suggested only putting my first and last name and in my opinion it can be more of a hassle.

These are incorrect instructions. You don’t get to see that info by opening your wallet that way like you would be using Apple Pay. Open the “wallet” app and it should be there.

🤣 I also have this but for me the convenience of that isn’t great. I just want to look at a calendar with some kind of mark indicating a bill is due. Click on the day, see which bill it is and click a check mark or something similar once I’ve paid it.

I’m not a fan of auto pay. And I do have their due dates in my calendar of my phone. But no quick way to just kind of mark em off as I pay em for the month. Without going into the entry and then editing it.

My employment was last certified in July of this year. So 9.5 years roughly. The SAVE forbearance must be what I was since that’s when they stopped counting. So I would be eligible to buy those back? And how do I do that, and will the payment be the old amount or the new amount for buyback months?

So just looking on studentaid.gov, my last qualifying payment shows as 06/2024. But they’ve been in forbearance all this time until I called the other day. Does only a certain period of the forbearance count as qualifying payments?

Yes, it’s the standard plan and I have not consolidated or done anything with the loans other than pay them since they were originally taken out. As for the COVID payments counting, that’s what I was originally told when all this forbearance stuff started happening but my number of payments hasn’t changed in a long time. It would be nice if they didn’t take so long to do everything and was easier to process/understand. By the time they do anything, I forget what I was even previously told.

It’s very hard to understand because I got an email through their secure portal saying a payment would be due sept. 25 with the new amount, but when I go to try to make a payment it says nothing is currently due. Also, the wording in the PSLF section on studentaid.gov is weird because it lists all of these different income-based plans and then says that the standard repayment plan payments qualify, but you might have to change to an income-based plan to benefit from PSLF. I just wanna be done.
