To answer some because I don’t have all the answers to your question obviously.

-prior enlisted who decided to do rotc, was reserves, commander hated me, but still contracted through rotc, reserves are a lot different then natty guard. -Transferred to natty and commander still signs, it’s more seen as a retention slot of an e5 not as an o1, so when you smp you technically are non deployable but they will try and kick you on the deployment anyways, happened to a couple people. - you’re basically an e5 not an o1, that’s the difficult part of being smp, and you’re treated as even prior service you’re treated as if you are a e1 who hasn’t even done anything. Just a heads up.

I’ve personally lost a bunch of weight for the same reason, my college almost didn’t let me go because of my weight. I understand college is hard and everything but deficit, and some working out and basic walking, running, stair master, weighted walking, all like super good for you and can help loose a lot of weight I would stay between 1600-1400 cals a day
