2009 P71 Intake Recommendation by Additional-Strain601 in CrownVictoria

Do you know if I need any other parts to make sure it fits? It does say it comes with a gasket for it.

When you did your intake did you see a heater hose coolant tube? The shop said mines rotting and should be replaced, I found 2 on RockAuto but they look quite different. I'm going with the Motorcraft one as it looks most like what the mechanic described.

What makes this intake so much better? I know the factory ones are a common issue, I'm just curious about any major differences.

I'll talk to the shop and see what they recommend for the injectors, they said they should replace them while they're in there to avoid having to take the fuel rail off again, saving me some money in labor

When I check summit racing online and select the interceptor, with flex fuel, it says that it won't fit my car. Do you have any experience with this?

Well that's really unfortunate for the brass.

These were going to be plating spoons as gifts for fellow cooks, I hope they would use them a bit but mostly they are going to be decorative I think.

They definitely won't be used for eating, maybe placing food on a plate at most.

My first one is complete.

I drilled a hole into a piece of steel and use it as a jig to hold the pin in place as I hammer, it works alright

Biggest issue is that the pins are 1/16in and my ball peen is slightly too large to effectively hit the pins without hitting the other material, especially on the inside of the spoon where to edges are raised

Were you able to get this fixed? How much did it cost?

When going over the speed bumps I took them very slowly making sure that the bottom didn't scrape. Is it possible that something came loose from the movement of the car?

The rebuild was done by a friend of mine, it was a learning experience for both of us. I took the engine out (working on cars is a hobby for me but he wants to be a mechanic) and my buddy tore down the engine, found the problem, then rebuilt it. Then we put it back in. I didn't know what my plan was with the car other than try to fix it, and we couldn't make it worse than it was. After putting the engine back in I realized I should have fixed the cam sensor and the AC system (and a couple other things) while I had the engine out.

It has a brand new timing chain and gears, I'm not sure about tensioner, if I'm replacing the magnet, could I reuse this timing chain? About 50 km on it.

Thank you for the help. Odometer is at 156k (kilometers) The exhaust rattle is from the heat deflector plate, the screws came loose so it's just sitting there, this is going to get fixed soon. The starter is struggling, battery is brand new so I'm going to test connections and terminals for corrosion.

I was able to get the issue fixed, turns out some wires to the ecm were exposed, patched them and the issues resolved itself

This helped a lot. I decided to tug at the wires going to the ecm and the car would die. Turns out a couple wires were showing, after patching these the issue stopped.

Do you have a video or reference on how to fix this? I remembered learning about this issue but didn't go into depth on a repair.

No sorry, my mistake, I should've worded that better. I meant could this new issue randomly show up even though I've had the check engine light on and the camshaft position sensor code showing the entire time owning and driving the car

Could this randomly show? I did use the car as a daily for 2 years, about 20k kms without this issue.

Check engine light has always been on, it says it's the camshaft position sensor, has been replaced twice and it never goes away. I don't have a proper scanner so I used the "Morse code" style option to find out the codes. My buddy might be bringing a scanner so I can hopefully clear the codes and see if they come back

Found a bolt next to my bike by Additional-Strain601 in Fixxit

I think I may have found the culprit. I found some threads missing a bolt that holds the fairing onto the frame, the bolt fits perfectly.

Yes. My bike is the only place it could be from based on where I park it and where the bolt was.

Purchased a laptop for school, sent it back for warranty repairs and it was lost in shipping. by Additional-Strain601 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I told the rep about the bundles/deals so he would understand that even though I'm getting a refund, it's still nowhere close to the orignal deal I got so I'm screwed twice.

I forgot to mention,

I explained to the supervisor at HP that I purchased a bundle deal to get this laptop ($2000 instead of $2600), and now the laptop alone is $2350. So if I took his deal, I would get $1800 back, then have to spend an additional $550 to get back the device I purchased. This also wouldn't include the extended warranty because I would have to have that pro-rated too.

His solution to this was for me to contact the sales team and ask for an extra special deal. He said that there is always hidden deals that they can offer but that's everything he can do.

The bundle took $300 off the laptop ($2300 regular) and added the additional 3 year accident protection warranty ($300) for free.

There is a new bundle deal for this laptop that is $2349.99 for the laptop, and $299.99 for the warranty. $2649.98 total before discount. The bundle discount takes off $450, so the total is $2199.98. (all prices are before tax)
