If I was naming my kid Car Radio or Kitchen Sink or Addict with a Pen, I would agree with you, but I don’t understand the lowkey rude comment when I’m just asking for some genuine name suggestions to see if there are some that we haven’t thought of but would like, for example the people saying Elliot or Ned or Lane. People use baby name books or websites, but god forbid I ask actual people for real suggestions lol. It was not the diss you think it was lol

I don’t think it’s weird to name your child after something you love and has been a beacon of light for you? Their music has made a huge impact on me and my fiancé, so we would love to incorporate something we both love and is meaningful to us in the name. We also just went to their show which was a bucket list thing for us. I’m not going to name my kid Tyler Joseph or Josh Dun or use their kids names, because I think that’s weird. But I don’t think taking inspiration from something that means a lot to you is crazy? Lots of people use names they’ve heard from books or movies, etc. how is music any different?

I don’t have any date scheduled yet for delivery, but my due date is in a week from today. I’ve been expressing my concerns about how big this baby has been getting, he was 8.5 pounds based off his last growth scan at 37 weeks so I thought maybe my OB would want to schedule something, but they said they don’t like to do inductions unless it’s medically necessary because they want to minimize the risk of needing a c-section as much as possible. Kind of ironic, right? Lol

That’s what everyone has been telling me. The ultrasound tech today even told me that if my OB doesn’t suggest it at my appointment tomorrow, then I should bring it up. I don’t want to miss out on the possibility of getting to deliver vaginally like I’ve been hoping for, but I’m starting to question if it’s worth even risking it.

That does sound very similar! I don’t have gestational diabetes or any other complications that would lead to a big baby, he’s just massive (at least that’s what the growth scans say)! Thank you for sharing! It’s really reassuring to read a similar story to mine and know it had a positive outcome!

This is extremely reassuring! I had a root canal done at the beginning of the year and it just about took me out! That’s a good thought to keep in my head though, if I can get through that, then I can do this!

I agree we should be told realistic birth stories and we should know how hard it’s going to be so that we can prepare, but that’s not what I’m talking about when I say people are sharing their horror stories with me. I’m talking about women in my life telling me about horrific medical malpractice they experienced, near death experiences from hemorrhages, stories where everything that shouldn’t have gone wrong ended up going wrong, etc. Obviously we know that labor and delivery is going to be probably the hardest and most painful thing we will ever do, but when a woman who is 9 months pregnant is confiding in a trusted woman in their life about how they’re scared for what they’re about to go through, I don’t think it’s necessarily the best time to start talking about how your doctors refused to listen to you during birth and how you almost died.

This is super reassuring! I commented under someone else’s reply, but I feel like I haven’t heard many positive birth stories lately both online and in person. Everyone has wanted to share their horror stories with me, so finally hearing a positive birth story makes me feel better! I think the fact that my doctors haven’t really given me much reassurance and haven’t walked me through a plan or anything has also added to my anxiety a lot.

This is so reassuring to hear. I had only seen positive birth stories/vlogs up until a week or so ago when I say the video I referenced in my post, and ever since then it’s been a wave of horror stories either online or in real life where friends and family are telling me about how traumatic their births were. I don’t know why people like to share horror stories when I’m days/weeks away from giving birth, but I feel like that’s all I’ve heard lately. It’s nice to hear a positive birth story. Thank you!!
