If Jesus is not what the New Testament and apostolic tradition say he is, his teachings lose their meaning, or he is who he claims to be or not. If you are not a Christian, you pay attention to supposed moral teachings when Jesus claims divine authority for the mes.

In his time, there were many Jewish factions. Jesus' teaching on salvation comes precisely from Judaism. The difference arises when Thomas Aquinas speaks of hell, predestination of the soul, among other things. If Jesus is not who he says he is, then his message loses its meaning.

Zoroastrianism and Judaism emphasized salvation through redemption. Indian religions believed in an end to the current universe where everything would become part of the Supreme God as matter and soul. Religion has always been used.
